We have been feeding this to cur birds for years. Getting it from Drs Foster and Smith has been a blessing. The cost improvement over traditional store has been significant and the delivey service can't be beat.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Our UToo loves the Lafeber's pellets and we couldn't be more thrilled. Her previous diet was not so healthy and when we adopted her we started her on the pellets, along with the Lafeber's Nutriberries which complement the pellets nicely, and she readily adapted without any issue. Her health and feathers and attitude has improved visibly and she is one happy bird! Our other birds are smaller but love the large pellets too, and frankly get offended if you offer anything smaller. Small birds with big bird attitudes!

Yes, I recommend this product.

Are meal worms good to feed to a bearded dragon

  1. Our beardy loves meal worms. We have a dish with a little depth for his veggies, so we hide the meal worms in the greenery/carrots and he sits and watches for the veggies to move, and grabs the worms and usually a mouthful of bok choy along with them, so he eats a well-balanced diet this way. The only food he probably likes more is his crickets, which are supposed to be a favorite for beardies, but ours doesn't care which one he's fed honestly. He usually gets a couple of crickets, then about a dozen meal worms, and he's a getting very big and very fat off this diet. I don't know that he's actually fat, but we got him after someone moved and left him behind, and he was pencil thin and about starved, living in a wet pine bark enclosure, etc., and he's just so healthy now and in 2 months, is shedding for the third time on mainly a meal worm diet, as crickets are rather hard to find this time of year locally. He probably gets crickets at least 3 days a week (refuses to eat anything freeze dried) and gets meal worms daily. Now his body has quickly caught up with the length of his body, he's active (we thought he was dead when we found him) and his color is gorgeous!

how do I keep my meal worms and how long do they stay alive in general?

  1. Thank you for your question. Mealworms are relatively easy to keep. Upon arrival place them in a refrigerator, set at 45°F, until ready for use. When you are ready to use them, remove the desired amount and leave at room temperature until they become active, roughly 24 hours before feeding to your animal. If you plan to keep the mealworms for longer than two weeks, remove them from the refrigerator, and let them become active. Once they become active, place a slice of potato on the top of the bedding to provide moisture, and let them sit for 24 hours. Then, place them back in the refrigerator. sjs

Meal worms

  1. They come in only one size as far as i know, around 1" on average. They are very plump and lively, my eastern bluebirds love them.
