Absolutely wonderful!

My cat is fully toilet trained thanks to the litter kwitter! I started her out at 7 months old, so maybe that is why it was so easy to train her. But she picked right up and after 8 weeks, is now going in the toilet with the regular toilet seat. I am ecstatic that I do not have to have a litter box stinking up my small apartment anymore. I dont know if this works for all cats, but it's definitely worth a try!!!!

Yes, I recommend this product.

Worked perfectly with my first kitten!

This worked perfectly for training my shpynx cat! But, I do not recommend trying to train your full grown cat. Just like how you can't keep an old dog new tricks, works the same with cats. If your cat has used a litter box for awhile after you brought it home it will likely not want to be toilet trained. YOU HAVE TO TRAIN YOUR CAT AS A KITTEN TO BE TOILET TRAINED! Another word of advice is to not get this product if you only have 1 toilet in your home, you essentially have to dedicate a toilet to training your cat for about 2 month & you're not going to want to share a toilet with your cat until they stop using litter, it's just a disgusting mess. If you are getting a kitten & you have more than one bathroom in your home I highly recommend making the effort in the beginning to toilet train them. After toilet training my cat I was able to take her anywhere with me. I just had to show her where the toilet was at and flush the toilet for her once so she knew it worked. I've saved a lot of money not buying litter for the past 7 years, well worth the investment.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Love the product and would recommend it to anybody that wants to toilet train their cat. I don't know if my cat is a slow learner or what. We started this process as soon as we got the kitten in the door from the adoption center, he was eight weeks old. A year later he's totally trained. Eight weeks that that's a joke. Everybody thought I was crazy and told me to give up but I knew my baby Clyde could do it. Remember, cats do things on their own time. BE PATIENT, THE REWARDS IN THE END ARE TOTALLY WORTH IT!!!

Yes, I recommend this product.

I will recommend this product to everyone that has a cat. You just need to have patience and realize that accidents happen and don't punish your cats for that. Just keep reward then when they do use it.

A lovely dream

I had high hopes for this system which I bought before I brought home two 3 month old himalayan litter mates. The female was doing fine with the system, but her brother refused to use it -- he did all his business on the bathroom floor, so I couldn't advance with the female either. I even had the kitties watch the instructional video several times with me! They followed every move of the cat on the video, but it didn't influence them. After several weeks I had to give up -- mostly because the male seemed traumatized by the process. One problem may have been the litter I used- "World's Best Cat Litter". A great deal of the litter in the trays would fall into the toilet with every cat encounter, so I couldn't use traditional litter. But the World's Best smelled terrible -- even when unused. It was also difficult rewarding just the female when she used the system. I think my sweet boy was heartbroken by the whole experience! With resistant cats it might work if you stayed home for weeks to guide and reward your kitties' every potty moment. That was not an option for me. But this isn't the fault of the product. Nothing works for everyone.

Yes, I recommend this product.

My 20lb Cat Loves It!

FourLeggedChildren

We tried the other cat training tray and it was great for my 8lb cat, but my big cat started to be to much for it once the hole got bigger. This system is worth the money. I don't worry about cleaning the Kwitter, the plastic is hard, I spray it down with the garden hose. It doesn't change under the weight of my large cat. The minute I took it out of the box and held it in my hands I knew I had wasted six months of training and $20; I should have got the Kwitter the first time.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Great concept, better for kittens and young cats. Final stage frustrated my poor 12 yr old cat who refused to defacate for 3 days, so I had to quit on the project.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Questions

Is a 10 year old cat to old to train?

  1. I don't see why you can't. You were just going to have to be very very patient. I'm sure it is going to take much longer than eight weeks since your cats are older. The fact that they are neutered shouldn't make a difference. If you have more than one bathroom I suggest using both of them. It might make the transition easier.

LITTER KWITTER USED ON KIDDY TRAINING TOILET

  1. 1) I would not recommend having a litter box available to your cats. 2) I, also, would not recommend investing in two kits or toddler toilets as you may end up confusing your cats. Start with the box beside your personal toilet and slowly raise it as the cats adjust. Phone books work well. Also remember that each cat may have its own learning curve. I would go as slow in your training as the slowest cat adjusts. In other words, don't raise the box until all of your cats are on board. 3) Were they even meant to be questions. ;)

Will this work on a handicap toilet?

  1. By handicap I assume you mean ADA compliant which only refers to the layout of bathroom stall or compartment. All toilet seats are a standard width. There are longer toilet seats available but those are specialty items & you would know if you have one. If you do have a specialty toilet this may not work because it's designed for a flat standard size toilet.

Can me and my cat use the same toilet or would there be a teritory issue for the cat?

  1. This was not an issue in my experience. It's my son, my husband, my cat and myself. We all use the same toilet. Of course, every cat is different so don't quote me.

flushabul litter

  1. I used feline fresh . great flushable litter.

Will this system work for my 9 week old kitten or should I wait?

  1. If they are old enough to litter box train then they are old enough to toilet train seeing as you start with the box and just raise the box as they adjust to the new height.

I will be adopting two 8 week old kittens this weekend... are they too young for this product?

  1. If they are old enough to litter box train then they are old enough to toilet train seeing as you start with the box and just raise the box as they adjust to the new height.

I don't understand how you get them started - is there a pan or something that goes in the middle & holds litter to get their attention?

  1. Yes. There's 3 different rings. No hole, small hole, and then big hole. Finally nothing.

Will the Litter Kwitter system support a 20lb. cat?

  1. I have a 17 pound cat, and he didn't have any problems with it. I don't think another 3 pounds would break it.

can I teach the cat to flush?

  1. i wish, some cats like the sound of running water so it can be done if you think creatively, mutliple cats, would be much better if there is more than one toilet in the home
