This product would have been great if I owned my home. I have chosen to rent for a year and didn't want to drill holes in my rental. If I ever decide to buy another home, I will definately get this product. One thing to be aware of though, I have a cat within the required weight (13 pounds) for the small door I purchased, but she carries it in her middle. I was a little concerned that she wouldn't be able to get through the door...if I do this again, I think I will go for the medium door.

Looks good, sturdy, works as expected. Followed the instructions for installation (easy) and training my dog to use it (easy).

Went in easily! I added insulation strip on non door side as recommended by another reviewer. It is perfect for now and our 2 dogs love it. We bought it aware up front that cold winters on the coast will probably be too much to expect from single panel glass. We plan to winterize it with an overpanel of plexiglass and change out the flaps with extreme weather flaps. Still much less expensive than higher end doors!

I installed this door in 15 minutes. It looks great. Most people don't notice it. I took the door off, at first, to get my cats used to it. Now they are in and out all the time. Once a month medicine time came, put on the lock- no one escapes.

Somewhat easy to install but more weather stripping was needed. My 2 cats were getting in and out at will soon after installation. The door looks great and I'm happy with my purchase.

I went with the medium door opening as there is no way my 12 lb cat would have used the small door opening. The cat will use it if I am not nearby, but, if he sees me he will just sit there and wait until I open the door. This insert goes in a patio door leading out to an unheated 3 season room - so there was no need for me to install a lock. I just need to insure it is air tight so that the cat can get to his litter box, but, during the winter I am not losing heat. You will need to buy some 1/2" pipe insulation to install along the side that goes into the door frame and better weather stripping to go on the patio door to get a good fit. Other than that it was easy to install. Not sure I would install this in a patio door going to the outside, but, it works well for the cat to get access to his litter box in my unheated 3 season room.

We purchased a new pet door as we no longer have our large dog, may she rest in peace, so we decided to get a new small dog doggy door that fits in the sliding glass door. It arrives with in a week, easy set up and working with in 30 minutes or less. It fits perfectly, love that the plastic flap is now replacable when it wears out, you don't need a whole door, just the flap!

I purchased the large door for my Germ Shep and Lab and found that they were hitting their backs going in and out so I bought the XL version. Unfortunately, the XL has a tall piece at the bottom of the door so they still have to climb in and will hit their backs again. My lab has bad hips so having to climb over that ledge would be too challenging. I wish the design for the door was from the ground to the highest clearance height- their shouldn't be a "lip/curb" to climb over. Otherwise, the construction is solid on the L and it was easy to install.
