This product did not effectively remove sludge from my pond. At suggested dosing and even higher sludge largely remains.

No, I do not recommend this product.

I have a shallow end of my pond so that the local frogs have a place to get out and the birds can take a quick bath. When I first added rock to this area to keep it protected from the sharp claws of animals, i noticed after a few days that the rocks had turned to almost black. I looked everywhere and tried everything from this cleaner to that cleaner with no prevail. I saw this was made especially for rock bottoms so I got a bottle to try. One bottle would only do my initial dose and my next week, but after doing the first two rounds, I could tell a difference, the rocks were beginning to become clean again. I got a second bottle to continue the steps that they want you to do for four weeks to see how clean they would become. I was looking at my water fall the other day as well and the muck that had accumulated on it over the past few months was also gone showing the beautiful rock faces that I had chosen to build the water fall with. It was just like I had just put it in when actually it was 2 years old. I have tried other cleaners and have scrubbed at those rocks for hours and had never really gotten them this clean before. If you want a easy way to clean your rocks in your pond, this is most definitely the product you want. And just remember, its not going to happen over night, just be patient pond goers!

No, I do not recommend this product.

One needs to know what kind of "stuff" is causing the problem. I assumed that the murkiness was due to excessive organic waste matterial. Obviously I was wrong because Microbe Lift did not solve my problem. This is a good product if used for the right purpose.

Yes, I recommend this product.

I've used Sludge Away in my fully rocked pond for six years. It is an excellent product for breaking down muck and sludge build up caused by fish waste and leaf debris, when used as directed. I highly recommend it. I buy it by the gallon!

Yes, I recommend this product.

We have a 6000 gal. koi pond with a rock and gravel bottom. This product is excellent in removing sludge and particulates resulting in beautifully clear water. It does turn the water cloudy when first applied (proof that it is working) but begins to clear in a couple of days. This is a very dependable product.

Yes, I recommend this product.

What is the result/end product after using this product?

  1. Thank you for your question. Liquid Sludge Away accelerates the breakdown of difficult-to-remove sludge and muck buildup. This product is helpful for ponds with rock or gravel bottoms where vacuuming may not be practical or effective.

If we buy and use the Microbe Lift Sludge Away, should we also use the regular Microbe Lift beneficial bacteria at the same time?

  1. hillhiker Thank you for your question. You may use regular Microbe Lift Beneficial Bacteria in conjunction with the Microbe Lift Sludge Away, however it is not needed.

Can Sludge Away be used in an in-ground pool where sludge has accumulated?

  1. Thank you for your question. We do not recommend using the Microbe-Lift Sludge Away in pools. This product is intended only for ponds or water gardens.

If the sludge is built up from years, will this product work?

  1. Thank you for your question. The Sludge Away accelerates the breakdown of difficult-to-remove sludge and muck buildup. If it has been built up for that long, you may have to do some manual removing of the sludge as well.

Will microlift sludge away remove green stringy sludge on bottoms and sides of pond safely and not harm fish?

  1. Sludge Away will not control string algae, nor will your UV filter. UV lights control green water algae. I've used Pond Care Algaefix for years to help control string algae. However, some algae in a pond is good. It shows you have a healthy pond and it's great fish food, so don't worry about having some in your pond. A clean toilet brush can be used to collect string algae around the edges of the pond. Use it like a hair brush to gather up the algae. Be sure to use any algae control product first thing in the morning.

Is the Sludge Away used as clean up in the Spring or on an ongoing basis? I already use the Micro Lift in the summer. Would this be a duplication?

  1. We use it primarily in the Spring, only as needed after a bad storm or the water starts to get dark.
