This is a nice little aquarium. I wanted a glass tank but didn't want to get a 10 gal. so this was perfect. I have no problem with the lid so far but the air flow knob comes off every time I change the direction of the flow. So I set it in the direction I wanted and let it be. The filter is good but I don't have fish in mine yet so I can't say about it's cleaning ability. The light is adequate. It doesn't light up the whole aquarium though. I got another one that was bigger. It didn't have a switch to turn it on and off either.
Yes, I recommend this product.

I had issues with the shipping of this tank - the first one I received was broken, but I contacted Petco right away and they sent another one. The new one is great and holds water. It does have a small chip on the top right corner, but the hinges for the lid cover it so I don't mind. I do wish that the lid were a little sturdier - it's just a floppy sheet of plastic - and that it fit the tank slightly better. Still, it's much better than the integrated hoods that most kits have, and the curved glass of the tank is absolutely gorgeous. I would definitely recommend this tank to a friend.

What filter replacement does this tank use? Does Petco sell them
How much do each of these tanks weigh empty?
does it come with a lid????
- Yes. It comes with a flat clear plastic lid that sits flush against the top of the tank. It comes with hinges that attach to lid and tank to keep the lid in place and allow you to open it. There is about a 1 inch gap behind the lid for filter/heater/pump accessories to be fed through.
