bought the stay and play for my yellow lab, because she wouldn't stay home. I live on 20 acres and don't have a yard fence so I thought I would give it a try. very pleased with results. She has more room to roam than most city dogs, and it didn't take long to learn her limits. I would recommend this product.

I have only had this product for about 2 weeks and after reading the instructions, was bummed that it might take a month to train the dog. But after only a few days, he has learned to stay well within his boundaries and if he "forgets" and goes outside, he instantly stops and comes right back in! This is great because it allows him to have a great play area and we don't have to worry about where he's at! Love it!

We were so worried about our husky getting in trouble while we were not home, we have 3 acre lot and this covers about 3/4 acre around the house, which is plenty of room for her to run. It's so strange to see her stay in the yard around the house, but she does! She caught on very quickly and for being stubborn so far she's doing great. We aren't brave enough yet to let her be loose all day long while we are at work, but she's enjoying her time on the porch and so are we without worry of her running off!

I went through 4 collars under warranty. Apparently there is a quality control issue. I finally got working collars, only to have the base unit stop working after 15 months. I liked the product- it worked perfectly while it was working. I tried to give PetSafe a chance to make it right and send me a new transmitter, but the best they did was offer a discount on a new one since it was out of warranty by 3 months. For any inquiring minds, Petsafe is owned by the company that also makes Invisible Fence and Sport Dog brands (none of which will get my business again).

We live in a new home, built on 10 acres in the desert of southern NM..
We have a back yard that has many ups and downs with the arroyos and mesas..
This did not work when there were dips...my dog did not get the indication that this was off limits..
the level areas worked good, but we have too many of the other type and and go there

We have a 5 year old beagle and initially used the other petsafe electric fence. It worked very well for 4 years and then began to shock her at odd times when she was not close to the boundary (in the house). We were told it was something environmental causing it. After troubleshooting it every different direction we decided to replace it and since there was a new option went with it hoping it would have a different frequency. So far it has worked as well as the first one did before it went on the fritz. These fences changed our beagle's entire life as it gave her freedom to play in a neighborhood that doesn't allow fences. We also travel and take it with us so that is very convenient. Highly recommended.

Prior to purchasing we read another review where this product wasn't reliable if you didn't have a flat yard. We thought we would be fine but the signal doesn't transmit through heavy metal (washer/dryer, parked cars, A/C unit, etc), so we couldn't close the circuit which meant the system is useless. We figure this would be great if you're out camping and have a large open area where you want to restrain your pets, but we're returning it and going back to the underground wired fence to put around our home.
No, I do not recommend this product.

After I set the flags out and started the training Zoe quickly learned not to go past the flags. When I removed the flags she tested it once and now stays inside the boundary.

Is this unit able to be used without electricity?
- Thank you for your question! This system does require electricity to operate and because all of our wireless containment systems operate in a similar fashion, we do not have any battery-powered options available.

Can you add a handheld remote to the system for other forms of correctional training?
- We recommend that your dog wear only 1 collar at a time. If you want to use a remote trainer we recommend that take off the wireless collar. You dog might even think that the remote trainer collar is the wireless collar. Give it a try....

how small a circle can I make with this appartus? We have more than one home and need to adjust it regularly
