Prevue deluxe hamster cage

Nice cage for mice or dwarf hamsters,wouldn't use it for larger ones,since they require 360 ground space which is a 31 long,20 wide,by 16 high.too bad our stores don't carry them.anyway,this cage nice for mice,easy to clean too

My mice absolutely love this spacious cage. They love climbing the ladders & chilling in the houses. The only bad thing is, they obviously go to the bathroom up there too. Since there's no bedding up there, it starts to smell so you gotta keep those clean. But there's so much room in it. I still have an igloo in the bottom & a playground puzzle that I also bought from petco. LOVE IT!!

Gerbils Chewed the Wheel

The wheel isn't a thick plastic and the gerbils chewed it all up. The houses are a little better but they liked to chew those as well. This is all despite the toys we had in the cage.

Can a rat live in this?
- Thank you for your question. Unfortunately, the Prevue Deluxe Hamster & Gerbil Cage would not be large enough to house your rats in. Your rat should live in a cage, and large wire cages are the best choice. Look for a tall cage so your rat can have plenty of room to climb. A tall cage should have at least 12" x 24" of floor space, and the cage will need lots of shelves and hammocks to create more play space for your rat. However, wire cage floors can cause an injury called "bumblefoot." If your cage has wire floors, cover them with a thin sheet of wood or some other protective material.

- They can. They actually send the cage unassembled so you can definitely remove them!

Could this cage be used for a Syrian hamster or just a dwarf hamster?
- This cage is suited for smaller animals The cage is itself 23 inches long and an enlarged image of the cage indicates the door opening is 2" to 3" wide. Syrian Hamsters love space and this cage is selling a hide and seek enivronment.

Can this be a mouse cage?
- No it would be good for a hamster but mice squeeze through the bars. If you are looking for a bigger home i recommend 20 gallon long that is what i use for my mice.
