I love this stuff. My dogs were very easy to train to use this. It comes in handy when I have to be away for longer periods of time. It is safe, clean, and effective. I would recommend this to anyone who has a dog that has to stay in for extended amounts of time.

Yes, I recommend this product.

We have been using for over 12 years. Both of the dogs love using it. Makes it so much easier than taking them outside - especially on rainy days. 5 of 5. Would not highlight 5

I have a Yorkie puppy who was using potty pads, but he would also shred them. I read about the litter and thought it would work. 1. He kept eating the litter. This made me very worried as he only weighs 3 lbs. it says it is safe, but I'm not taking any chances. 2. He would go potty next to the litter, so it became a huge step backwards in his housebreaking. I followed the recommended transition without any progress. Returned to the store, and went back to pads. He is using the pads again.

Purina second nature Dog Litter. Ive been using this system for years. It was easy to get my dog to use the litter box (he is a Havanese ~11 lbs). The petco price was more than fair and they delivered for a nominal price. Thank you!

Yes, I recommend this product.

My Shih Tzu loves this dog litter. He learned very quickly to use it and now prefers it. It convenient for me and my dog. It also does an excellent job at eliminating odors. I never smell anything and neither have any of the visitors that come over.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Perfect for the potty box

Our little yorkie-poo would not go outdoors, but using a litter box worked like a dream. This litter is in big enough pieces that it does not stick to the dog's feet, and it doesn't scatter everywhere like cat litter does. It is a bit pricey, but it does what we need it to do.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Have a 12 year old beagle that has used it since she was 3 months old! All about containment when they are pups. Keep them in a smaller space(my den) so she was never too far from the pan. Within a week she was 95%! Amazing! She will still #1 in the box, but prefers to #2 outside. But, she will do both in the box in an emergency situation!. Living in a high rise and working makes me feel better about leaving her for a longer period.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Has anyone used this product for larger dogs?

Can cats use this product in their own box?

    1. I would use this for a cat. This product is fragrance free.

My dog tends to go into the cat's litter pan and eat the litter. Won't she be tempted to do the same to hers?

i am interested in the pruina second nature dog litter. My dog has been using training pads for 5 years, would she be able to easily learn to use

      1. I think so. start by putting the pads in the litter box. reward her right away with a treat whenever she pees/poops there. after she is used to going in the box on the pads add some litter on top of the pad. maybe just a little at first then a little more if she keeps going there etc. the transition shouldnt take more than a week or two. buy one of those plastic storage trays that slide under a bed to use as a litter box . or a cat litter box. littler is way easier to deal with than pads. good luck.

Any suggestions on a litter pan to use with the Second Nature dog litter? Purina has discontinued the Second Nature litter pan.

      1. I recently replaced mine with a high-backed corner pan that I believe is actually for cats. It is working very well as she doesn't push the litter over the sides now. :) I hope this helps. (My girl is 20 lbs.)

I cannot find a secondnature litter box. My dog is 11 years old and needs another one. Any suggestions of where to find them?

      1. Our breeder told us that the litterbox has been discontinued. We bought a plastic storage bin and then cut an opening in the side of it for a pup to climb in. If you do this make sure you sand down the edges of the opening.

Where do I get the litter pan to go WITH the second nature litter for dogs?

      1. Our breeder told us that they have discontinued the litter pan. We bought a plastic storage bin and cut an opening in the side of it. If you do this make sure you sand the edges of where you cut.
