The Sailfin Algae Blenny is a unique fish with a personality that matches. This fish is enjoyable to watch, but is also a great cleanup crew member. They can be seen perching on/in live rock and hopping across the substrate, while also grazing on algae. Even though this blenny can grow to be about 5" within an aquarium, they will remain peaceful and active, which makes them the ideal candidate. It is recommended that only one blenny be kept in an aquarium unless it is a mated pair. Add this fish to a reef tank with caution because they have been known to nip on small-polyped stony coral and clam mantles. Even though these guys will eat algae found throughout the live rock, the blenny should also be offered a diet of vegetable matter and other herbivore preparations. They are tan in color with a mottled pattern of maroon or brown coloration. Then there are random spots throughout. They are found in the Indo-Pacific, Fiji, Red Sea and the Great Barrier Reef.

ACCLIMATION: Avoid exposing new aquatic life to bright lights after opening the box. Turn off aquarium lights prior to floating aquatic life. Allow the sealed bag with your new fish to float in your aquarium for at least 15 minutes (but no longer than one hour) to ensure the water in the bag matches the temperature in your aquarium. A bacteria booster addition can assist with the addition of new aquatic life. Petco offers free water testing in store to determine if your water is safe for the addition of new aquatic life. DIET: A well-balanced diet consists of a variety of flakes, pellets, freeze-dried and frozen foods, depending on the species. FEEDING: Feed sparingly and no more than fish can eat in 1-2 minutes. Overfeeding can quickly foul the water, especially in smaller aquariums.
