DIRECTIONS: Use one bag for each 400 L (100 gallons). Rinse before use. Exhaustion is indicated by a pronounced discoloration of the beads from yellow to deep brown. For best results, Purigen should be placed so as to maximize the flow of water through it. It may be used in a canister filter, chemical filtration module, box filter, or any high flow area of a trickle filter.

I've used Purigen in the past, used the prefilled bag for my Fluval Spec. This time I decided to buy the bottled product along with "The Bag" by Seachem since the prefilled is such a large amount for a smaller aquarium. I was able to cut the bag in half and use zip ties to securely fasten the ends since the bag is also too large for a nano tank, believe it's 5" x 10". This is a fine product and in my aquariums the water becomes crystal clear with Purigen.

This product works very well. It cleared up my tank in just two days. It is easy to regenerate but takes a couple days. My tank is planted and I'm concerned it may work too well. A planted tank needs the the nitrites. I called the company and they recommended it for planted tanks. For now I think I'll only use the Purigen if I'm having issues in my tank. At least until I have more experience with a planted tank requirements.

Very good product. But remember to buy the bag to out it in. Not any bag can be used to hold it because the particles are very small.

can you let Purigen dry out when not in use?

Can I replace protein skimmer with Purigen?
- Thank you for your question. The Seachem Purigen is a filter material that will help with the removal of proteins, but is not as efficient as a protein skimmers.

Can I use ammonia remover and Purigen together at the same time.
- Thank you for your question. Any product containing any amine based polymer will not fowl the Purigen but will render it non-regenerable. This includes products containing EDTA. Most ammonia removers should be okay but if you are concerned, Seachem does offer Prime which they indicate will not harm Purigen. I just purchased Purigen filter media.
- Thank you for your question. You are able to use the API Stress Coat with the Seachem Purigen. However, we do recommend removing the Seachem Purigen or any charcoal media for 24 hours once the API Stress Coat is added, to avoid being filtered out.

It says 100 ml treats up to 100 gallons, for up to 6 months. Are they saying you can get 6 months per regeneration?

- Bxtr, Thank you for your question. You are more than welcome to use the Seachem Purigen in conjunction with your other filter media that is currently in your filter. Both the Seachem Purigen and the filter cartridges should fit together.
