I like this scratcher as an auxiliary scratcher counterpart to the large scratcher I have from the same company. It gives my cat another place to leave her scent and sharpen her claws in the house. I like that you can use it lying on the floor or propped on a wall. This scratcher is so heavy duty and durable it will last for several years. The fabric is rip resistant and the pressed wood/plastic parts are indestructible. The large one I have that's in post form has lasted over 6 years now! It is still going strong. The materials and workmanship of this small scratcher is the same. I definitely recommend this item and the other large scratcher made by this company.

My 4 cats sure do enjoy and use this wonderful cat Scratcher. Very well made! Arrives all together and ready for the kitties/cats to use. Mine love to lay on it. They just ponder but when they arise my cats inevitably give their nails a hardy scratch. I am very pleased so much so, I went back and purchased a 2nd one. I line them on the side of my hallway wall. They are slim enough to stay out of walking way but wide enough for my 15 lb. girl! So well worth my money. Thank you once again Drs. Foster and Smith!

This is a nice, heavy, sturdy scratcher. I just have it leaning against the wall and it does not move when he scratches on it. Very good item.

i purchased two all in one cat scratchers and my cat wont have nothing to do with them. I even tried putting catnip on them (she loves catnip) but she still wont use them.

My cats love this...so much that after at least ten years I've had to purchase a new one. It can be placed horizontally (on the floor) or vertical depending on your cats preference

I have two tall vertical cat scratchers in my house that I purchased from Dr. Foster & Smith which my cats love, but sometimes they want to scratch horizontally on the carpet, so I got one of these scratchers that I could put on the floor so they could scratch horizontally. It took a little while but they are using it now and it does seem to help to keep them from scratching the carpet since they now have an alternative available. If you sit it on the carpet where they like to scratch, it helps even more and they will most often choose the horizontal scratcher over the carpeting. I will probably get another one for the downstairs. It stays put and doesn't slide around on them when in use. Very sturdy and well made. I only wish it were a little wider and a little longer for my bigger boys who have long legs and long bodies. Other than that it is great.
