Worst product I have ever purchase online hand down. After years of online shopping this is the first time writing a review but my bad experience with this item provided the motivation to do so. I had read that the product was not made of high quality materials, however I had no idea it would be so bad! To begin with-there were there no instructions- unless you think a picture on the back of box with a few arrows count...oh and it arrived on a rainy day so even those were a mess. Major parts of the house were missing, including the nesting box lid. Pieces of the wood were broken and those which were split while drilling it together using the screws provided. None of the locks work, as they do not even meet. We continued to waste a weekend trying to build this thing and patch & repair it along the way. The tray that is supposedly for convenience does not even fit in the box and we had to adjust by shaving it down & removing parts to make it fit. It still does not fit properly & certainly cannot slide in and out ! We had to build supports under the house so that the chickens don't fall through, since the side supports for the tray were broken upon unpacking. The box was not at damaged & so I do not think it was shipping problems but rather a garbage product. The only reason I did not return this product upon opening it is that we had bought the chickens & really had no choice but to persist. I reached out to Petco and got a nice representative who was sympathetic & willing to help but seems like the company is prepared only to replace broken parts (which in my opinion is pretty much whole thing - since pieces break daily including the door that leads to run on day 4- snapped in half through wood when opening) What was comical was that they asked me to identify broken pieces using the manual, WHAT manuaI?I sent in several pictures as evidence however apparently they need the parts identified for them. I am planning on making a safer house for my chickens today and dumping this thing at the nearest Petco store. It's a miracle that my chickens survived in this piece of garbage for a week! Even though I got this on sale I think it was a waste of time, money and a cause of major stress! Save your time & money!

No, I do not recommend this product.

It's probably one of the best looking coops for the price, and it does have many really good features, such as: slide out coop floor, swing open roof, several access doors, and a protective roof that covers all. Unfortunately, because of its small size (roughly 54" x 28" on ground dimension) there are some awkwardly designed features. For example, the sliding coop door can only be reached by awkwardly leaning down into the coop to shut it. Reopening, on the other hand is even more difficult, because the handle is on the outside, not easily reached unless one is a contortionist. Most buyers will probably point out the lightweight material, poor hardware, and less than perfect directions. And yet, when one considers the time and money to build a coop compared to what you get for the money, this Trixie unit really doesn't seem all that bad. Only time will tell if the purchase of this coop was a good or a bad decision. For now, however, I would have to say that it seems to be working for me and my two chickens.

Yes, I recommend this product.

I was looking for a smaller coop for just two birds so I can leave them with nesting area and room to move around if I have to be away. Other wise, I let them range free in the yard during the day. This coop works for me. Quick delivery, all parts included, even fun to put together. Materials are good. I will add a few coats of shellac later. Only minor problem getting the tray to pull out smoothly.

Yes, I recommend this product.

The wood is equivalent to balsa wood. Paper thin, easily breaks. Even indoors this coop would not last with much use. Sure glad I did not pay full price, but even at $220 this product is not worth the $. The coop is also MUCH smaller than what appears in the pic. The run is too small to leave two chickens in when we are away for the day and or vacation.

No, I do not recommend this product.

It went together fairly easily , but I was disappointed by the fact the material was very light weight and easy to damage. Don't expect it to last more than a year or so, not suitable for outdoor use.

I bought two of these coops. I am going to be returning one because its just not accessible enough on the bottom. If the chicks get into the far corner of the coop you can't reach them. The door is too small to get into unless your a child. I am not a large person just average adult. Also the picture shows the wall under the nest box as being screened in, its not its wood, which is good does keep out the wind but I would rather have what I saw in the picture that's what I used to determine what I was going to buy. I have bought a couple of these type of coops they are nice but only for a couple of chickens either bantam or standard. I'm keeping the one for a hospital wing.

No, I do not recommend this product.

I bought this coop for my rabbit to have an outdoor play pen and as an extra re-hab coop for my chickens in case they got hurt, etc. I also bought it when Petco was having a sale which made it even a better deal than any of the other on-line sites or pet stores which were asking $450 plus for the exact design. I have had it for a little over a year and do not have any big complaints/problems with it. I will say the only negatives are that the hinges for the top roof are not very strong and structurally it really can't take too much moving after you put it together. I accidentally ripped the ramp off its hinges trying to drag it across the yard, but i screwed it back in without any problems. The roof is still waterproof and it has a lot of vents and if you remove the plexiglass panes where the windows are it really helps with circulation. It gets hot where I live and I add a small fan and the pets all seem comfortable and are never panting. I'd say that it fits 3-4 small bantam hens comfortably when they have access to an additional run, but really 2 small bantam size hens only confined to this run/coop.

Yes, I recommend this product.
