I first saw this cage when I was looking for a cage for my son's rat, Rory. It had great reviews and a great price, so I ordered it. The cage is incredible. Can't say enough good things about it. I liked it so much that when I got my own rat, Jax, I had to order another cage for him. Notes: Not crazy about the wire platforms and ramps, so those have been covered in fleece to protect our rats' feet. Also, when assembling the cage, you'll need to clamp some of the wires to make them tighter. Nothing major, just a few simple extra steps when assembling.

this was a good cage, although it's a bit flimsy, you can re-enforce it with zip ties over all a great cage

This cage is flimsy and cheap. The bars dont even fit in the purple bottom. The bottom is to wide for the bars. It doesn't latch together on the sides. There is spots where the bars are bigger than 1/2". My robo dwarf hamsters can get out of it. I would not recommend it to anyone.

So, I put the cage together and it said "no tools necessary". Yeah right. I had to use pliers to squeeze the bars together so the thing didn't collapse. There were still huge gaps I was worried about. 24 hours in that cage and I saw my hamster climb to the very top and fall over and over again. She didn't land gracefully, either. I had to cover up the mesh layers (MESH IS BAD FOR HAMSTERS). I had a horrible time putting the platforms in (terrible quality and bent all wrong). I was in my room with my DOG and the cage was on my dresser. I went over to check on the little one. GONE. Kicked my dog out and found the poor thing trapped between my dresser and the wall. All the cage doors were closed. Waste of money.

It's plenty big for my daughter's Panda Bear Hamster. But the hooks on the wire ramps are a pain, I have to keep hooking them onto the platforms because when the hamster bumps it, it comes dislodged. My husband had to use pliers to tighten down the hooks that hold the cage together. Otherwise, it kept coming apart. The doors could be bigger. The frame itself is flimsy, it needs handles to lift it when you need to clean the bedding area. But, for a starter cage, this is so much better, roomier then one of those teeny habit trails. Your little furry friend will thank you for this roomy cage.

this cage was fairly easy to put together; but not quite as durable as i had hoped. it will work fine. my son has a rat and he will be okay in it. it does not give quite as much space as i had hoped for. will work for now, but would like something a little larger.

When i was younger i had a teddy bear hamster, this was the cage she was in, she loved it and lived a health life, 7 years!
