Directions For Use: Pour bedding into terrarium and landscape as desired. A depth of one to two inches is recommended. Remove animal waste and soiled bedding daily. Replace bedding monthly or as needed. HUMIDITY- it may be necessary to add humidity by misting depending on the species of reptile. If misting is necessary, the bedding will absorb any excess moisture which will then be released back into the terrarium over time.

I was really excited about getting this kind of moss. I have two firebelly newts and I was wondering how they would react to it. Which they absolutely love it. One of them.. loves the moss the most. Whenever I have moss in the tank she is always laying in it .. half the time its hard to find her .. good hidden place too :) Plus really looks awesome in the tank :)

Yes, I recommend this product.

I was having trouble keeping various reptile cages humid enough for the reptiles that were in them. I had to mist the cages more and more every day. I added Beaked Moss to the cages and it has helped to increase my humidity levels to the proper level without having to mist so many times a day. It is also easy to clean up.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Great for Newts!

bought this for a newt i recently aquired. i put it on top of the gravel underneath his little hiding place outside of the water where he spends most of his time. it's great because it keeps him moist and it retains the heat from the heat lamp that i have on during the day, so he stays warm all night. it's a lot better than having him be on cold pebbles. i highly recommend this for anyone who has a terrestrial area for their newt or any other amphibian.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Is beaked moss good for humidity levels in a green anole cage?

  1. Moss is great for humidity. The stuff is a SPONGE. I have a Chinese Water Dragon and the humidity needs to be in the tropical range and I have moss all over the place and well...the humidity levels seem to stay "tropical." Hope it helps!
