Moisten pellets with water to stimulate feeding behavior and create a flavorful mash that tortoises love. Many tortoises love lettuce; however diets of mostly lettuce are unnaturally high in protein and low in fiber. If your tortoise will only eat lettuce, thoroughly mix small amounts of lettuce into the mash. Slowly reduce the amount of lettuce offered at each feeding until your tortoise has switched completely. Zoo Med's Can O' products (worms or snails), sold separately, are enjoyed by Forest Tortoises and can be offered occasionally. Always provide clean drinking water. Store unused food in a cool, dry area.

Great Food!

I mix this with water, Rep Cal Calcium with Vit D, Rep Cal Herptivite Multivitamins with some leafy greens. Kale, spring mix.... My desert Tortoises are so healthy now. They are growing so big and strong. I have three baby Desert Tortoises that where not doing so good when I found them. one couldn't even move its back legs. Now its like I can't keep them in one spot! LOL Total recovery. I also have them in the Zoo Meds Tortoise house so they get real sun light. (mine is outside) I will have to build something bigger soon but for now this is working great. If you have tortoises please read into what they need because without it they will die. This food has most of what they would normally eat in the wild. Great product and I will buy it over and over again.

Yes, I recommend this product.

I have a russian tort "Bubbles" she loves it i mix it with her dry food or i spray this strawberry scented spray on it and she comes running and i mean running. Shes fast for a turtle :). This product holds a lot of fiber. When you add water to it, it turns to mush and she loves digging in.

do all russian tortoises love the grassland tortoise food

  1. My russian tortoise has been eating grassland tortoise food since i got her. Shes been with me for almost 4 years now and she is happy. I suggest mixing this food with other types like T-Rex tortoise dry formula. I still feed her romain lettuce and fresh fruit once in a while as a treat. Hope this helps
