AMAZING STUFF!!!

I usually don't write a lot of reviews, but I was compelled to write this given how amazing this product is. My water got cloudy about 48 hours after setting up my new tank. I immediately went out and bought Tetra Water Clarifier, and trusted it given the brand name. I used it the minute I brought it home, and 4 days later the water actually looked worse! I did two treatments, and the water was supposed to have cleared up within several hours. As you can tell...no dice. My mom had some API Water Clarifier, so I figured I would try it instead. TWO HOURS LATER my water was CRYSTAL CLEAR! Seriously - I was amazed. Bottom line is the Tetra is a waste of money, and I will be returning it today. I've already bought a huge bottle of the API, and will continue to use it next time I may encounter cloudy water.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Perfect for Algae Blooms or cloudy fish tanks

I dealt with an algae bloom in my tank for about 4 weeks - even tried weekly water changes (25%-50%), filter cleaning, used the "No More Algae" tablets once a week for 3 weeks and got absolutely no results - my water was still cloudy green, unsightly, and embarrassing. We could barely see the fish. Finally, I ordered a UV light contraption for $40 and the API Accu-Clear drops for about $4. I couldn't figure out how to put together the UV light contraption so I decided to try out the drops alone and I am so glad I did that. After changing my water (50%) and cleaning the filter cartridge, I added 40 drops of the API Accu-clear (plus added the stress coat and stress enzyme) to my 20 gallon tank and within 24 hours my tank cleared up COMPLETELY. It's been about 3 weeks since I added the drops to my tank and cleaned the filter and it's still very clear. The UV light contraption will be going back to the store. I only wish I knew about the API drops before my guests arrived for the holidays (hence the embarrassment) but atleast they got to eventually see what the tank is supposed to look like before they departed. If you have an algae bloom, GET THIS PRODUCT BECAUSE IT WORKS!!!

This is the best thing to clear your water. I can change some water add some of this and my water looks brand new. The price is a bit high for the small bottle. But it is totaly worth it. This is so freaking awesome!

not so good

I bought a bottle from my local PetCo for clearing up the cloudy water in a newer (2 month old) ten gallon tank I started for my breeding fish, as it was the only kind of water carifier they had in stock. I decided to use it in several of my larger tanks as well, to see if they could be improved, none were very cloudy, and some very clear. By the next day after the first treatment, all my tanks were -cloudier- than they started! It's almost as if it was creating even smaller particulates so the filter would pass them into the tank, rather than doing the opposite and retaining larger clumps as advertised! A few water changes later and after abstaining from the Accu-Clear, my major tanks have all cleared up back to normal. But with bi-daily treatments to the ten gallon, the product failed to clear the tank. I stopped using it and, low and behold, it cleared up on its own. There are a lot of positive reviews early on, so I'm not sure if I got a bad batch, or if they've suddenly dropped the quality, maybe in order to create a situation where you need to buy additional products. Either way, you may want to steer clear of this clarifier until the reviews improve.

No, I do not recommend this product.
