Great Chiller - Very happy

I use the Max 1/10 HP for my 55 gallon mixed reef tank and I am pleased with the job it has done. It is quiet running and keeps my tank temps steady. It's really easy to set up and use. Took me about 10 minutes and I was up and running. This saved my corals.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Bought a 1/4HP chiller to replace another brand unit that stopped working prematurely and couldn't be happier with the purchase I made. Is been used in my 120 gallon with an Apex 656 gph pump . Is been working great for the past 2 years. It keeps my aquarium at a constant 78 degrees.

Yes, I recommend this product.

I bought the 1/4 HP Max Chiller almost 3 years ago at a local fish store and I have been very pleased with the performance of it. So far so its been a great buy for my reef aquarium. I have it on my 80 gallon reef tank and it keeps the temperature in check. Before I bought it, I kept losing corals when my tank got into the mid 80 range but now the water stays in the high 70s which is perfect. Good chiller.

Yes, I recommend this product.

How would you filter the saltwater going into the chiller.

  1. Thank you for your question. The Chiller Water Inlet must be connected to a water pump with a filter or external filter to ensure the intake water is pure. This means the water will need to run thru a filter before the Chiller.

Do I need a controller to run the chiller / heater as necessary? Or is it integrated?

  1. You don't need a controller. You just need a pump and flexible tubing. That will connect the chiller and the aquarium.

Is 1/10 HP unit work for my 65 gal tank

  1. Thank you for your inquiry. The 1/10HP will work for any tank up to 80 gallons and has an operating temperature range of between 39°F and 82°F. This product will keep your tank within 2° of the set temperature and should be more than sufficient for your situation.
