Could a person use the new Aquean submersible flat heater as a substrate heater in a small planted tank?
- Thank you for your question. The manufacturer does not recommend using these heaters under gravel or substrate.

Does the Aqueon heater have a light indicating that it's operating?
- Thank you for your question. There is no indicator light on these. They are always on as they are not thermostatically controlled. The temperature they keep a tank is dependent on the size of the water body and the room temperature. It is designed to bring 3 gallons of water about 5 degrees above room temperature.
