My 5 month old dachshund was throwing up every night for 2+ weeks and I couldn't figure out what was causing it. Changed his food to Blue Basics, and no vomit since!! :) We love it!

I have a very picky 12yr old Great Pyr/Gold Ret. She likes this food, thank goodness. It has good ingredients and very small kibble so it's easy for her to chew.

Yes, I recommend this product.

My puppy unfortunately caught parvo virus when he was 10 weeks old. He thankfully survived, but his GI tract has been very sensitive ever since. We tried all kinds of "sensitive stomach" foods with him and none of them stopped his diarrhea. Finally, I ordered blue basics turkey and potato puppy, and it really worked! Unfortunately I have to order it online because I live overseas, so I would love it if PetCo could supply a larger size bag online, but besides that, no complaints here!

Yes, I recommend this product.

So far so good

My new puppy seemed to have allergies which have gotten worse over the last 2 months. Symptoms started with red eyes, diarrhea resulted from cheese as a treat. Later the itching which at times seemed relentless, paw licking turned into chewing, face rubbing on cement and rug to alleviate and finally a rash on his belly. After all the research and advice from professionals I decided to suspect a food allergy. I switched to this formula rather than the grain free to see if we could identify the culprit(s). My puppy needed a good day to warm up to the new ingredient in his food and because of the severe itching I stopped mixing with old and just gave him Blue Buffalo Basic puppy turkey and potato. The constant itching seems to be so much better after only 2 days. His stool is normal so I am thrilled the change hasn't upset his system. He still scratches a little but not hardly at all. Crossing my fingers I've found a solution for him! I was told it takes about 2 weeks to see a difference so maybe by then all the problems will be completely gone. Thank you Blue Buffalo for offering a puppy food with limited ingredients specifically addressing food sensitivities!!! :)

Yes, I recommend this product.

what is the size of the dry food

  1. Thank you for your question. The kibble is between 9 and 11 millimeters in diameter.

At what age do you switch your dog from the Puppy food to the Adult?

  1. I was told at a year or a little before. The puppy food, I believe has a lot more protein and can make the pup gain more weight (so, if your dog is very active this is a good thing, however, if not active you may want to switch to adult formula earlier on). I switched my boston to adult small breed when she was about 10 months.
