What cat food does not contain wheat or soy? Does the Blue Buffalo have this?
- Blue Buffalo does have this. It is their selection of food called "Freedom". It is free from all grains. Blue "Wilderness" is another option.

what is a good dry cat food to help prevent shedding?
- All cats shed. The best way to manage it is by brushing your cat regularly. If the cat is shedding to the point where he or she is getting bald spots, it needs to be seen by a veterinarian to determine the cause. If your cat has allergies or fleas, they will lick/dig to the point where severe fur loss occurs. The same with ear mites in the area around the ears neck and face. Normal shedding though is just part of owning a cat. We have a long haired white cat, in good health, but we have to brush her constantly, not only to prevent long white fur all over the house but to prevent her fur from knotting, especially in the spring when the shedding begins in earnest.

my cat is diabetic & receives insulin shots. which food might be best? vet science diet smaller bag for so much more money i just can't afford it.
- You should go with your veterinarian's recommendation to keep your cat as healthy as possible. First, contact your local shelter, rescue group or humane society. Many of these groups have programs that distribute free cat food and dog food to those in need. The best place for your cats and dogs is with you, so they will do what they can to help you keep your pets.

My vet wants us to change to Science Diet CD for our cat that has trouble with stones in kidneys. Is there a blue buffalo that is just as good?
- Blue Buffalo cat foods do help maintain urinary tract health but there is no specific Blue brand for existing urinary problems. In the past, with our male cats who had issues, we were told grain free wet food only (Blue has several great types of grain free wet food), avoiding any fish flavors because of higher ash content and really push the water. That said, since the food your vet recommended is supposed to normalize the urinary tract and contains no ash (the culprit in feline kidney stones) you should do as he or she says. If the problem resolves, ask your vet if changing to a Blue formula would be okay.

I am trying to figure out if internet prices are cheaper than in the store.
- They have 15 lb. bags at the stores. Last time I bought them (I have 5 cats to I buy the big bags) I think they were around $33 each. I'm seeing online that they are about $35 and free shipping. In store I could use coupons though if I had them.

- I would say to try adding a bit of warm water to the food. They claim this will help release the flavors and aromas. It may help your cats not pick around it so much. As for the review below that "hasn't heard good things and will never use Blue again", Blue Buffalo is a great product that works for many, many cats and their owners, its a healthy food and uses quality ingredients. It sounds to me like that particular person has some picky cats if they will only eat one variety of Merricks. My cats have really enjoyed the switch to Blue and also seem to enjoy the both the dry options and the wet (I use the Healthy Gourmet varieties of wet, and the Indoor Health Chicken & Brown Rice Dry w/ Life Source).
