My 1 year old kitty did not like this at all. He refused to use it, the feel freaked him out. More like pebbles than the clay litter. I really had hopes that he would - the clay dust is terrible. I tried!!

No, I do not recommend this product.

This kitty litter doesn't have dust, and it doesn't have a strong odor like other types of kitty litter.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Crumbles; Doesn't Clump

The last few bags of my old litter was too dusty and the fresh scent was suddenly awful and overpowering, so I finally tried this one. It's not dusty, but it doesn't clump well at all. Scooping results in the "clumps" crumbling into tiny bits. It also tracks worse than the clay litter.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Best I have found

Used the $$ corn brand for years but this has much better odor control. Live in a very small place but forget to scoop now for my one on grain-free food. Only 4 stars as clumping could be better. (Have only tried green bag.) Sister has 3 indoor cats and a feral that spends winter nights in the garage. The corn attracted rats. She likes BB better for odor with her big indoor cats on less $$ food. Petco had great deal on small bags and each had $5 coupon off 14 lb so am going back for this week's sale.

Yes, I recommend this product.

I Liked it... Kitty did NOT

I thought I would try something new and more environmentally friendly. This litter seemed great at first. It didn’t clump as much as I would like, but it cut down on the odor in my small apartment. It was all good, until about a week in when my cat refused to use his litter box and started urinating in my bathroom sink! Thank goodness he is an indoor/outdoor cat, because for the most part I think he goes outside. Anyways, for some reason kitty didn’t like it. So now I have to switch back to what I was using before.

No, I do not recommend this product.

No dust, no mushy wet clay on paws, no toxic chemicals, and no smell. What's not to like. I'll never use another cat litter.

Terrible Smell

I have two Maine Coon cats. I got this litter because I heard that blue buffalo was fantastic and it said it had superior odor control, however this did not cover the smell at all! My whole place smells terrible. The only good thing about this litter is that it is easy to scoop and clumps well, but I can't get over the smell.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Questions

How does this litter do with tracking outside the litter box? I'm also wondering if it is dusty.

  1. No dust at all - but it is more like pebbles... got all over my carpet, it is brown!

Which Blue Litter is the best?

  1. I have only tried the Quick clumping and I'm very satisfied with it.

Is this litter flushable?

  1. We have had no problems flushing it in our '80s-era Gerber toilet. Note that there are many who will tell you never to flush any cat litter, because cat feces may be contaminated with T. gondii, a parasite that harms Pacific sea otters. However, this is not a problem if (a) you live east of the Rockies, since nothing you flush will end up in the Pacific Ocean, and/or (b) your cat is definitely not infected with T. gondii. If your cat is a strictly indoor cat, and has been so for at least six months, and has no contact with wild animals, and is not fed raw meat, then you can be sure it's not infected. You can also find out by means of a blood test.

People with walnut allergies are also allergic to the dust from walnuts. What can be done with this product to help reduce contamination?

  1. If you or any of your friends or family are allergic to walnuts, I would suggest buying a different cat litter. If you are not allergic to walnuts, I would suggest buying a different cat litter anyway.

I purchased this product in anticipation of waiting to pick up my kitten. I've read a lot online about how clumping litter is bad/harmful for kittens.

  1. I'm no expert, but I use this product for my 2 cats in 2 litter boxes, and the clumps are very light and break apart easily. Since it doesn't form hard clumps, I would think that same danger as with clay litters isn't there. Also, the little granules are a little bigger. Even though there's some tracking, I think it falls off their paws and doesn't works it's way into the crevices of their little pads, rather than sticking to them.
