My chickens are a little spoiled - so I've been told as I make them warm oatmeal mash on cold mornings… lol so they are food brats - But they Love Brown's feed. It isn't to large of sized pellets or hard but holds up better than crumbles. Not offered at our local petco - shipping was easy & not to spendy for my girls.

Yes, I recommend this product.

It is a good source of supplement feed. My chicken seem to like it but they would eat almost everything anyway. I have chicken as pet so this is pretty much just pet food to me. And seem to me not many other pet supplies store carry chicken feed.

Yes, I recommend this product.

I got this item while it was on sale and it's great for my mealworms. I find it makes great substrate as well as food for them and makes them lay more eggs and pupate faster. Great item at a great price.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Is this ok for ducks?

  1. Ducks can eat what chickens eat - remember to mix in some corn scratch too.

can you feed this to guinea fowl?

  1. I have Quail all over the place. They come to eat and drink every day!

Do you feed chickens one type of food? if i start buying layer booster do i stop the chick starter food? do i need to put grits in the egg layer food?

  1. Yes, when it's time to advance to layer you stop the chick starter food. People have varying ideas about when to stop chick starter. I live in a farming community and the census at the feed store was to stop at 6 weeks and go to layer...a crumble at this age is my preference, but they are hard to find and I was on a layer pellet within 10 wks, that my 5 hens and 1 rooster tolerated well. Now the boost is recommended at after 18 weeks so this particular feed might not be optimal for younger hens.
