We have been using this product for the past 7 years. Originally we had a former 'class pet' rabbit. We have since adopted three additional shelter rabbits. So with four rabbits, we go through about half of a 50 liter bag per week. It is soft, easily compacted or fluffed. It contains smell well. Our male Rex loves to dig and kick it out of their jumbo litter-box. Doctors Foster and Smiths' price is much better than our local pet store. I should note that infrequently, I have received poor quality bedding that did not clump at all, that had been manufactured at one particular CareFresh facility. When I contacted CareFresh, they sent me vouchers for replacement bags after confirming numbers on the faulty bags.

I have had pet rats for 12 years and I have tried so many different kinds of bedding. Done the various wood shavings, done other brands of paper bedding, and even pulp. Then I found this 3 years ago and I am in love. I have also tried the Carefresh natural bedding 60L which is only a $1 less. But My girls (two female PEWs) really LOVE this one, the Ultra Soft. like the title, it is softer than the Naturals. They have a 5" bottom on their cage where they like to burrow and nest and this stuff really absorbs wetness and odor. I also have not found any respiratory problems with the extra baking soda.

My hamster loves it. This will expand so put 1/2 of what you normally would and it will puff up in a day or 2 after hamster work with it to nest. Mine burrows in 3" deep of bedding. I originally put in about 1.5" to 2" of bedding.. Odor control is excellent, I could not smell anything. We are about 72F during the day indoor. Though some believed that the adding of baking soda to this product may cause respiratory infection, my hamster is breathing fine. No hiccups, wheezing, or any signs of illness. The baking soda should be minimal, did not feel any grainy stuff after I put bedding into cage. Highly recommend this product.
