Step 1: Critters instinctively use a specific corner of their cage as a toilet. Observe your pet and place the potty in the corner your pet is already using. Discourage your pet from using the other areas by placing a bed in one corner, water bottle in another, and food dish in the last.Step 2: Place 1/4"-1/2" of litter in the bottom of the potty. Place a small quantity of soiled bedding or droppings into the litter pan daily. This helps ensure your pet immediately recognizes the litter pan as the toilet area.

Questions
how do you train a hamster to use this litter box?
- Hello. Thank you for your inquiry. Here are four easy steps. 1. Find the right type of litter. This is important, because some litter can harm your hamster. There are some out there that are actually edible potty pellets. 2. Place the potty in a corner. Ware potties can be found at many pet stores. 3. Clean his/her cage. The next time you clean your hamster's cage, take a napkin or a tissue and remove some spots with urine. Do not throw this away! Clean their cage well, to get everything clean. If you do not do a good job, the scent of the urine will attract them back and they won't get potty-trained. 4. Fill the Potty. After you fill the potty with the pellets, use the soaked bedding you collected earlier and put that in the potty, and then cover it with more pellets. The next time your hamster needs to go, it'll smell its scent and learns to go in its potty. Continue to do this until you feel certain it knows where it's supposed to be going. I hope this information is helpful. Good luck!
