What is the height from floor to drinking rim?
- It;s 3 1/2 inches from the floor to the rim.

Are there any plastic parts in this fountain?
- It's all stainless steel around the base where the water is But the top of the fountain where the water comes out (in 2 to 6 streams) is made out of a hard plastic. There are 3 snap on hard plastic supports that go over edge of bowl and keep the center of the fountain from slipping around if it's forcefully bumped. So I guess the answer is yes, there is plastic they could easily come in contact with.

- It does not have an auto shut off. You must ensure that the bowl remains filled and does not run too low on water. An auto shut off would be a wonderful feature.
