The PetSafe Drinkwell Pagoda Fountain combines fashion and function by providing you with a stylish home accessory that also provides 70 oz. of fresh-flowing, filtered water for your pets. The hygienic ceramic design is non-porous and easy-to-clean. The activated carbon, coconut shell filters help absorb molecules out of tap water that can contribute to poor taste and smells. • - 70 oz. water capacity is great for small dogs and cats
  • - Dual free-falling streams add oxygen for freshness and encourage pets to drink more
  • - Includes replaceable carbon water filter that removes bad tastes and odors, keeping water fresh

  • - Upper and lower dish provides two drinking areas for multiple pets
  • - Ceramic design is hygienic and top-shelf dishwasher safe
  • - Low-voltage 12V system with submersible pump for safe and quiet operation

Loud

It's a pretty piece. It's heavy enough that my cat can't drag it across the floor but the center piece is loose so he knocks that over. The water pours out pretty heavily which makes it very loud, louder than my previous water fountain. There's not much room for him to drink from the bottom so he forced to drink from the spout which doesn't pour out very far so its a little awkward for him to drink from it. It's easy to assemble and looks nice but I'm returning it due to the noise and awkward drinking position my cat has to be in.

Cats love it!

Very good quality! Sturdy and easy to clean. Cats adapted easily. One suggestion: widen area between fountain in middle and edge. Cats barely have room to drink out of sides and ours both avoid drinking out of the top trickling areas. Worth the money!

Yes, I recommend this product.

This fountain is great! My cats are drawn to it and don't take a bath while trying o see if there is water in it. My male cat use to be wet on his back and paws because he would stick them in the bowl first to make sure there was something in it. The result was water flying around when he shook his paw. Now he steps up and just drinks. So does my other cat The porcelain is nice and clean. Easy to maintain

What a Fountain!

My cat is hypersensitive to noise. When he was recently diagnosed with kidney problems the vet said he should drink as much water as possible. I tried large bowls, gravity water dishes and looked at fountains. The pump noise from a plastic fountain scared him. He wouldn't drink from it. I could not find one with a quiet pump but thought maybe if the pump was in a large reservoir made of something much thicker than plastic it might be quiet enough that he would drink from it. This one worked. I can't hear it running and he definitely prefers the filtered water. This is perfect for a scary cat who needs to drink more water. He also prefers to drink the water in a separate location from his food dish.

Poor Quality Pump

My first Drinkwell pump lasted over 5 years with 2 cats. Got the Pagoda, same two cats and pump lasted 2 months. Emailed PetSafe - they are giving me the run around on replacing the pump. Do this, soak that. Not one single piece of hair was in the pump. I use all the filters required. I don't think my cats saliva can cause the pump to malfunction this soon. Like I said - first Drinkwell no problems with the pump. Clearly they are using cheaper pumps and don't want to own up to the poor quality.

My son (cat) (Billy) has been meowing about getting a faucet for years...bugged me in the bathroom sink ...bugged me in the kitchen sink. I wanted a cat fountain that looked good, wasn't plastic and was quiet. I GOT IT! :) Mother & son are now purrrrfectly happy!

Overall Great Fountain

The last fountain we had for our two dogs and cat just recently gave out, so we decided to get them a new one. Overall, the Drinkwell Pagoda fountain is great, especially aesthetically. The only downside to it is that it is noticeably louder than our last fountain but it's not that big of a deal to us and you can only notice it when it is dead silent in our house...which is not often. All pets seem to love it!

Yes, I recommend this product.

Fresh water easy clean

This was everything I wanted in a pet fountain, the only thing that kept me from buying it was the reviews on the water noise. I finally bought it 2 months ago. :) First, I live on hard well water and the plastic fountains were impossible to clean, this one is easy to clean -which I do as needed or once every week or two. Also, I have yet to have any water pressure/pump flow issues like my last one, thanks to the little thing that surrounds the pump to keep gunk/hair out. I have six (yes six... sigh) cats and all but one drinks out of it, each in their own way (bottom of bowl, waterfall, and top bowl) so it really works great. Now, to the noise, it does have two falling fountains that drop about two inches into the water bowl so there is water noise. I am a noise sensitive person, and the first several weeks, I would just unplug it when I went to sleep or if I was sitting right by it. Overall tho, it has been worth it. Only improvement would be to redesign the tower so the water hits the slope first which would soften the noise.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Any trouble with Leaking?

Is there any plastic in this fountain?

    1. Yes, the water pump, pump flow adapter and filter cartridge are plastic. I was not wild about this at first, but we live in a plastic kinda world. As long as you clean it once a week your fine. The two main parts (dish and center pump cover) are both ceramic/porcelain...better than a mostly plastic fountain.

What are the demensions of this water fountain?

    1. The rectangle edge of the top of the base bowl is approx. 9"x10.25" and the base bowl height is 3.25" tall with the total height 6.5" tall.

Outside measurements of Drinkwell Porceline Pet water fountain

    1. The rectangle top of the base bowl is ~ 9"x10.25"

    replacement filter (not carbon)

    1. The white "pre-filter is available at the manufacturers web site, also at Amazon. The carbon filter is also available there.

Can you run Drinkwell Pagoda fountain without carbon filters

    1. There are two filters, the first is rough looking almost like a scrubbing pad and goes around the outside of the filter assembly. It goes around the outside of the filter assembly an keeps hair, catnip leaves and buds, etc. from going into the pump assembly. The carbon filter will remove the off taste of faucet water and leave it tasting better.

this is listed $79.99 on the web here at Petco but it is $99 when i put it in my cart
