I should have read the ingredients. But I never thought Foster & Smith would sell a treat for pets that is loaded with refined sugar. Will not buy again.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Didn't work out

My bunny loves dried fruit as a treat, and especially papaya, but for some reason these didn't work out for her. My advice is to give your pet only a couple of these, then wait and see if their poop changes in any way. If they get loose stools or diarrhea, then discontinue. Each pet is a bit different, so test them first to make sure that they agree with their tummies before giving them more.

Yes, I recommend this product.

I reluctantly purchased this because of its price, but I splurged thinking it being fruit would be good for and something that my birds would enjoy. However I added this to my birds mix and they:, a Goffins Cockatoo, and a Red Lored Amazon would not eat it, it was wasted as it was thrown to the bottom of their cages with the bird poop. My birds love fruit but perhaps it is the added sugar they dislike? I would recommend being sure your birds like this item before splurging on it for it to be wasted and tossed out as I have now.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Why there is sugar in the papaya that bird will eat?

When I got the dry papaya, hoping my green cheek conure will eat; first disappointment was she did not like at all. It is not product's fault. It is just one more thing she does not like if it is not fresh. She is a picky bird. However what surprised me , one of the ingredient was sugar. Why would you dry fruit with sugar if it is meant for animal? I tasted. It was very...hmmmm...sweet. Then I bought , again, dry papaya for human consumption in one of the organic store; it was way less sweet than this product, no sugar in it as much as I can tell. I will try to return since I can not even donate to parrot rescue organization like I do the things my bird would not eat. Which is a lot.

No, I do not recommend this product.

For Lovebirds and Parakeets?

  1. I would stay away from these dried fruits and feed fresh if you can. Stay away from fruits high in sugar as sugar is a predisposing factor to fungal and bacterial infections.

GMO / GEI?

  1. I do not know, however, You may wish to buy organically grown papaya and dry it yourself. This way you can insure that it will be exactly what you are looking for.

Does it contain sulfur dioxide?

  1. They say no, but i never feed dried fruit. Always fresh but low in sugar contents.
