More Corn than Anything Else

I purchased this squirrel food because I thought it might have less of the corn filler used in most all other brands. It was just as bad, if not worse, than the others I was trying to improve on. The mix is over 75% of the corn filler and there are very few peanuts and seeds the squirrels like. I end up using my leaf blower on a huge stack of corn at the end of every week because the squirrels won't touch it. I ended up donating most of what I bought to a wildlife sanctuary.

No, I do not recommend this product.

The animals love it, the squirrels fight over who gets it first. Them, the deer or the blue jays.

Yes, I recommend this product.

My backyard squirrels really love this food. At least they stay out of my birdfeeders as long as I keep them supplied with their own food.

Yes, I recommend this product.

So much corn!

I bought a lot of this feed for the squirrels, chipmunks, and bunnies who frequent our backyard every day. I want to keep them out of the birdfeeder and away from my tomatoes and herbs. I've purchased other brands of squirrel food and they couldn't get enough of it. Decided to purchase Drs. Foster & Smith's brand because of the great price and for some reason, they all refuse to eat the corn. And there is a lot of corn. I mean a LOT. I'm here to purchase a bunch of sunflower seeds to add to it because they love those. There are barely any peanuts at all, so I had to supplement those as well. What I thought was a bargain turned out to be a real pain in the wallet.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Squirrel food is sometimes hard to find and if "out of season" can be old food. We love our squirrel families that have been here for several generations. They come down from their nests when we come outside, I want to have good quality food on hand to keep them happy and healthy!

Yes, I recommend this product.

The squirrels in my yard love this food. My only complaint is that I expected more peanuts. There were literally only about a dozen in the whole bag. Of course, the squirrels like the peanuts the most so I bought a bag at the grocery store to mix with the corn & sunflower seeds. The price of the food was affordable so I suppose I really can't complain. Now that I know what to expect, I will be a returning customer.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Are the peanuts in the squirrel food roasted peanuts? I believe that raw peanuts have a trypsin inhibitor which could interfere with digestion.

  1. They are raw in the shell, but the mix contains very little of them. It's mostly corn filler.
