How long does it take for Prozac ( flouxetene ) to start working on dogs system . My dog have had some traumatic experiences with some people and vets which made him moderate aggressive dog . It’s now 14th day of flouxetene and I cannot see any aggression being reduced . My dog recently had a focal seizure (never had a seizure before) and during the vet visit he was prescribed Prozac. I've read Prozac shouldn't be given to dogs with a history of seizures. Should I stop giving it to him? He's 85 lbs and is taking 40 mg a day (is that considered a high or low dose?)

My dog has been taking Fluoxetine for almost 3 weeks now for anxiety and obsessive behavior. This was recommended by his trainer & I have reluctantly agreed. Side effects were immediate. Loss of appetite and very sluggish. His appetite has improved a bit and outdoors he still is very active. Inside he has not played with any of his toys since he has been on the meds.
