pressure uncontrollable

After attaching everything, I started releasing the CO2 just enough to get a flow started. Even at the lowest possible setting the released gas still came out a such a high pressure that the tubing blowing right off of the diffuser. The pressure valve so hard to turn in the first place that I wasted almost half of the gas trying too turn it off. I went through two canisters in two days and the same result each time. I am not impressed with this product at all. It is a shame because Fluval normally puts out great products. This is definitely not one of them

No, I do not recommend this product.

Great for the small planted tank

Compared to its big brother not as good, but satisfactory; get a bubble counter though! It takes ages adjusting to get right bubble count because the adjusting nut on the side is VERY sensitive; it can QUICKLY go from too much CO2 to not enough! Takes some time to "learn" how to get the right setting, although to be fair, this is also true of its bigger brother as well.. The holder only works on thin tank tops, & and as most aquariums have plastic rims along the top this will NOT hang on the top so the supplied holder with a "small" hanger becomes superfluous! I had to lay it down on top of the aquarium! However, it DOES work and once you get used to its quirks, it's great for the small planted aquarium!

Yes, I recommend this product.

I've had this set up for a couple of weeks now, it was very easy to put together and it has been running perfectly since then. I had heard there were issues with leaks, but I put a small amount of Teflon tape on the threads and the needle hasn't moved for several days. I'm not sure how long it will last, but so far so good. Also, this kit is complete, so do not buy a separate bubble counter (like I did).

Yes, I recommend this product.

The Fluval Co2 kit is initially cost-effective to set up, and if you are experienced with Co2 systems, easy to maintain. However, it is overall expensive to run in the long term. I run my Co2 in a 5 gallon SPEC and the cartridges only last me a week each. I do suggest this product, as it is a great product and works wonderfully. It is simply expensive and not very beginner-friendly. I advise using a wrench to tighten everything down before attempting to turn the Co2 on, and be very gentle when turning it on the first time after a change.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Faulty Valve

While the concept of this CO2 product is good the unit I purchased had a valve that quickly deteriorated. It is a leaky valve that does not close off completely. As a result I go through an excessive number of CO2 cartridges. Only about 2 - 3 weeks use out of each cartridge. I have been told that this is a flaw and they all will do this. It has however given me an introduction to see the results of CO2 into my tank so it did provide some value.

No, I do not recommend this product.

The Fluval co2 system is easy to set up and works very good. At 1 bubble every two seconds, the canister lasts about 6 weeks. However, that was not enough to turn my drop checker green. I had to up the bubble count to somewhere between two and a half and 3 bubbles per second. At that rate the canister lasts about 2 weeks making it a little expensive to operate this system in a 29 gallon tank.

Yes, I recommend this product.
