How to create a comfortable habitat for you pets: Add at least 2 inches of Galapagos Cypress Tank-Mulch to allow animals to burrow or to sufficiently cover the base of the terrarium. Tropical terrarium environments require proper drainage and aridity to last longer and not pose risks to your animals; consider amending your terrarium substrate with Tropicoco Soil. An even mix of Cypress Tank-Mulch and Tropicoco Soil works great for amphibians, while larger humidity-loving reptiles can use 100% Cypress. Balance the ratio accordingly to meet your animals' needs. Completing your tropical habitat with a thin layer of golden or green sphagnum moss will help maintain the humidity of the tank as well as make it easier to clean up and maintain your terrarium. Replace bedding once or twice a month depending on your pets' habits and terrarium size. Terrariums with live plants and ample room requre less frequent changing.
