Completing your tropical or wetland habitat with a thin layer of golden sphagnum moss will help maintain the humidity of the tank as well as make it easier to clean up and maintain your terrarium. Sphagnum helps reptiles shed properly and live in an environment that supports their natural habits. Use in and pack around water dishes to allow easy access and lessen the risk of drowning. To prepare new moss, soak in water for 10 minutes and wring out excess water before using. Replace moss once or twice a month depending on your pets' habits and terrarium size.
