My Goldfish LOVE IT!

K9Kim

I was looking for more variety beyond the fresh veggies & Hikari sinking pellets, so thought I'd try the brine shrimp & the blood worms. And they absolutely go nuts for both! You'd think they are piranha instead of Goldie's! I alternate feeding them brine shrimp, bloodworms, pellets, seaweed, veggies etc... so they are getting a well balanced diet. I love Hikari products. Highly recommend them.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Best freeze dried food

In my opinion, this freeze dried food has the best appeal to my tropical fish. The brine shrimp doesn't crumble as easily to powder as others and the bloodworms are better quality with just the right size for large and small fish.

Yes, I recommend this product.

I recently started giving my Betta's the blood worm and brine shrimp as a treat and they love both of them. I try and give them a variety of different foods.Like us who would want to eat the same thing day in and day out.Wonderful product, good price.I would definitely recommend this product to anyone who has Betta's or for that matter any type of fish

Great Food

I have a 90 gallon tank containing discus, congo tretras, Dennison barbs, German blue rams and various exotic plecostomus. All the fish go crazy when I feed the Hikari blood worms and tubifex; even the normally bottom feeding plecostomus will come to the surface to grab a treat. All the fish are thriving on this food and Cobalt Hans Discus flakes.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Red Diamond Jewels love this!

My fish were getting sick of the same old food, I think because they were not too eager to eat the flakes that I feed them. I saw this and thought that I would give this a try. I am glad that I did because the baby Red Diamond Jewels love pulling on this when it is stuck to the side of the glass!! The parents help them tug and pull so that the fry can have some different food. They love it!! Now, they get the flakes and the Tubifex! No more worries!! A GREAT product that the fish will love!! I also love that it is so easy to feed them. Just press it onto the side of the glass and watch the fun!!

Yes, I recommend this product.

Neons, rasboras, and hatchets love blood worms

When I give my fish the blood worms my black neons, rasboras, and hatchet fish eat them in less than a minute. I've never seen them get more excited about a food than the blood worms. I will try the spirulina brine shrimp and daphnia next. Anything that is Hikari is a good product so I know the food is nutritious. I would recommend to anyone.

Yes, I recommend this product.

I feed my fish a mix of live blood worms, high quality flake food, and these brine shrimp. Out of everything, they prefer to eat Hikari Brine Shrimp. Can't argue with that.

Yes, I recommend this product.

koi fish babies and big koi eat these?

  1. Thank you for your question. The manufacturer does not recommend giving the Tubifex to baby koi as the amount given could overwhelm the digestive system. They would much rather see a baby pellet of a formulated koi diet, as it would have a better nutrient mix providing all components required for good long term health.

Where is the best place to store Hikari FD foods once opened?

  1. I keep mine in the refrigerator for at least 3 months and it's still appealing to my fish.

Can the tubifex worms be fed to finches (birds)?

  1. Thank you for your question. We do not recommend feeding the Bio-Pure Food Tubifex Worms to finches. The tubifex worms are not a typical food source for finches. The tubifex worms are meant to be a food source for tropical fish, turtles, and some reptiles. Mealworms are an acceptable choice for finches requiring a higher protein diet, such as breeding finches. Most finches do well on a pelleted diet with fresh vegetables and a small amount of seeds. We recommend discussing your finches’ dietary requirements with your veterinarian.

Can bettas eat these as treats?

  1. I am sure the Hikari freeze dried products would be a nutritious treat for bettas. It would add some variety too.

Can the freeze dried tubifex be fed to red eared slider turtles ? Thank you for answering.

  1. Thank you for your question. The Red Eared Sliders will eat Freeze Dried Tubiflex Worms as a supplement along with other meaty foods.

what is best for mollys, hatchets, cleaner shrimp and a miniature blue lobster

  1. Hatchet fish seem to love the blood worms. I am sure the mollies would like them too. I have seen cleaner shrimp go to the surface upside down and eat food at the surface before. I don't think that the food would sink to get to the lobster however.

Do any of these freeze dried products sink?

  1. I have not had a problem with the sinking of this fish food...water pumps can circulate the food around some.

is this good for oscars?

  1. Seems like a good idea to me. Freeze dried krill, bloodworms, and brine shrimp are definietly less messy then frozen. I think it should be fine. Just remember their in cube form like frozen.
