Tips from Addie the Groomer on proper use of this tool: Try locating the nail bed, or quick, inside the dog's nail. It contains blood vessels and nerves. The quick is easily visible in light-colored nails, but often difficult to see in dark nails. Be very careful and cut the nail well short of the quick. The cutting guard on this clipper will hep in cutting off a short length of nail at a time. If you accidentally do cut the quick, apply styptic powder to hep stop the bleeding. After trimming the nails, smooth the sharp edges with a nail file or emery board.

I never clipped a dog's nails before but found it pretty easy to do with these clippers. They're strong and cut through the nail quickly.

Great for large dogs.

My dog is very large and has large, thick nails and has broken every pair of clippers we've bought within the first few trimmings. So far these have held up nicely and are sturdy. They're the same kind of clippers my vet has used on him for trimmings so I know they're a great product. Thumbs up.

Yes, I recommend this product.

clippers seemed cheap and poorly made. The guard was bent away from the clippers. Will be returning for something better.

Perfect for calm clippings

I love this clipper. It is the first clipper that I found that I could clip my black labs nails, not cut the quick and not space her out at the same time. She will actually sit and allow me to clip her nails now that I don't have a noise from an electric devise, or a devise that cuts her quick. Being able to adjust this clipper to stop her nails from going into the clipper too far is great. I have a clipping date with her every month and have never clipped her quick with this clipper. It was recommended by a vet to me personally that clipped my labs nails ever month, I was so glad for this recommendation and I tell everyone that has large breed dogs to go with this clipper. I have found none better, and now I don't spend money every month just so my lab can walk comfortably and her nails are well groomed.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Great for hard to reach nails

I have several rescue Shelties that have dew claws or deformed nails that are very difficult to reach for trimming. I have tried different types of clippers and also tried a professional strength nail grinder. These clippers are the first solution that has made the job of trimming those difficult nails much easier for both the dogs and me..

Yes, I recommend this product.

Have a 93 pound dog and was wanting to know if the med. and lar. clipersis there a driffents. Her nail grow fast and are a little hard

Has anyone used the medium sized on a wire hair fox terrier?

I have a beagle mix (about 51 lbs) and Cavalier King Charles. Would I be able to use the medium size on both or should I purchase the large for both?

      1. I would go with the large for both. The medium may not be able to clip through on the larger dog, whereas the large one can be adjusted for the medium dog.

how do I use the clip and shape - nail clippers- sku# 1476866

      1. YouTube has many excellent videos teaching how to cut your dogs nails safely

how long are each pair of clipers?

Do you only sell size Medium and Large? Would Medium work for a puppy's nails?

        1. If you have a toy or small dog with smaller nails, I recommend any cat nail scissors. They are quiet and the easiest to use. The ones by bamboo are what I use on my mini schnauzer and he doesn't flinch. It comes with power to stop bleeding if you cut too much, so the combo price is good.
