Description

Please note that the product information displayed is provided by manufacturers, suppliers and other third parties and is not independently verified by Petco.

Flea, tick and mosquito bites can be very painful for your dog. Worse, those bites may expose your dog to irritation, itching and even deadly diseases. Fleas may cause Flea Allergy Dermatitis (FAD) and if ingested, fleas could cause tapeworms. A bite from an infected tick can transmit diseases, such as Lyme disease or Rocky Mountain spotted fever, to your dog. And mosquitoes may transmit heartworms or even West Nile virus to your dog. K9 Advantix II is a veterinarian-recommended monthly flea, tick and mosquito treatment for your dog that kills through contact. No biting required.

  • - Veterinarian-recommended flea and tick prevention for dogs and mosquito repellent for dogs
  • - Kills fleas, ticks and mosquitoes through contact, no biting required
  • - Kills all flea life stages
  • - Convenient, easy to apply monthly topical for us on dogs or puppies 7 weeks of age or older
  • - Starts killing ticks within 10 minutes
  • - Also kills lice and repels biting flies

Does NOT repel BITING FLIES

FiresideReader

Beware that this product does NOT repel biting flies, as it states. I use this product for my Alaskan Husky and it works well for flea and tick prevention. But we have terrible biting flies that look like ordinary house flies. They will bite his ears until they bleed in just one day. They will embed themselves down in the fur of an animal and feed on its blood. We must purchase a special spray from the Tractor Supply store that is safe for dogs but also used on horses. It repels and kills the biting flies. So just know that this product DOES NOT WORK on BITING FLIES...

Yes, I recommend this product.

Great Improvement for my Boston t

CritterAware

We live in rural America on a dirt road with free ranging chickens and a free-ranging doggie. He's a 22 lb Boston Terrier and the stuff we used to have for him didn't repel ticks and fleas, but killed them once they bite and begin to feed and that just wasn't going very well for him. We'd find ticks from time to time and have to remove them. I'm happy to say that this summer and fall he didn't come in with one single tick or evidence of being bitten by those deer flies either! I'm back for more and am convinced that this stuff definitely does the trick! Excellent product and I highly recommend it for your outside dogs! He's an indoor dog, but spends a large part of his day running around sniffing our acreage.

Yes, I recommend this product.

This is the best flea drops we have ever used. Fall is a bad time for fleas and this really helps. The dog bed I ordered is quite nice and the dog's love it.

When applied, ticks will fall off dog if attached. Find ticks crawling after walk in woods on the dogs, but not latching after applied.

K9 Advantix II for dogs - where do you find the expiration for this item?

  1. Thank you for your question. This product does not expire.

What actually kills and repels ticks

  1. I would contact the company. They need to know and they are the ones to help you.

using frontline for fleas and ticks (no problem yet) vet said unusually bad year for ticks should I change to advanik. Live around Pittsburgh, Pa. tha

  1. I did! I used to use Frontline and it was the best years ago, but now many bad thing as well as this medication is way better. I live in CT and we have a tick infestation epidemic! I pulled over 40 off my male dog and almost 30 off my female coming from a walk.

Is Advantix ok to use on a Sheltie and Border Collie?

  1. For sure as long as you get the one for the correct weight.

My dog frequently stays at a doggy daycare. Do I need to routinely treat her for fleas, ticks, worms, etc? She has no signs of any problems. Thanks!

  1. Yes. All it takes is 1 flea and you could infest your house and mark my words it takes forever to get rid of them. I do it every month without fail

where is K9 Advantix ® II made

  1. It says Made in Germany on the box.

we are considering switching from frontline to k9 advantix. would you say the formula is thick and gooey?

  1. No I don't find it to be thick and gooey.

advantix 2 is it safe?

  1. We currently have a Havanese. She is now just over 1 year old, and we got her at 11 weeks. She weighs about 8.5 lbs. Our first Havanese passed away in November 2015, at 16.5 years. We also have 5lb. Chihuahua, who just turned 13. All are rescues, of course. Our vet recommended K9 Advantix for all, and it is the only product we use. None of our babies have issues when we apply it monthly. On the Havanese, we part her hair just between the shoulder, squeeze it on, and then play with her until it dries a little. Make sure you get it on the skin, not just on the hair, or it won't have the same effect. Hope this helps.

what is the difference in K9 advantix II # 9N-74547 and 9N-74551?

  1. 1 is a 4 pack and 1 is a 6 pack

anybody else seen irritation on their dog where the product was applied?

  1. I have not had irritated spots.. Last year i did not apply Advantix during the winter. When I started up in the spring, my dog exhibited neurological problems, including itching and discomfort and restlessness. I started him on benadryl. The vet said to give him benadryl for several days before applying Advantix. I did this for two months, and then didn't need to anymore. Also, I am applying Advantix II year round, no more problems. Did you by any chance not apply Advantix for several months, and your dog had to build up tolerance again. What does your vet say?
