Only 25 watts is all that's needed to keep the indoor or outdoor pet warm and comfy even in the coldest of climates. The 9" X 12" size is perfect for Rabbits, Guinea Pigs or Ferrets and is ideal for the rehabilitation of wildlife. The internal thermostat is preset to be the perfect temperature. We've cleverly rounded all the edges to take away a chewing surface and even capped the cord entrance and the first 18" of the power cord with steel. Holes in the 4 corners of the pad are the perfect anchor points to keep the pad in place. Screws can be used to anchor the pad on wood surfaces or wired in place for wire floored cages. The Small Animal Heated Pad is the perfect warm spot for any small animal. Indoor or outdoor use.

  • - Use indoors or outdoors
  • - Low power consumption, 25 watts
  • - Excellent for many small animals and wildlife
  • - Resists chewing
  • - Can be mounted vertically or horizontally
  • - Easy to clean

My bunnies are outside animals. They have large cages, endless hay and are well cared for. But I don't have the best of locations available to situate them in the winter. They love having the pads available and the bitter cold days do not worry me as much. Rabbits of course chew everything! And they began to chew the outside casing of the pads almost immediately. We solved this by buying small rubber vacuum line, splitting it and lining the outside of the pad around the edges. We also make sure we only use a grounded outlet and cords that were designed to be outdoors. I can not attest as to how long the product will last but I am happy to have them for the bunnies.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Heating pads were used out doors in inclement weather for cats. It kept the feral cats water bowl from freezing (which was under an inverted rubber tote container. Also used for my cats in a outdoor safe enclosure. Cats would sit on the pads for that extra warmth on a cold winter day. Mat is completely encased for safety and just warm to the touch. Wipe clean.

We are caring for a cat that was left behind after they moved. It has been cold so we made the purchase. It was the best thing we did for the cat to keep her warm.

I bought this for my young hedgehog and it works like a charm - possibly too well. She snuggles into her sleeping sack on top of the heated pad and refuses to come out! The pad is small enough to fit in a corner of her habitat. I placed her sleeping sack directly on the pad and pushed some CareFresh around the edges for insulation. It is solidly constructed so I don't worry about urine or water damaging the interior workings. The solid surface makes for easy cleaning. If you are wanting to create a warm sleeping corner for your small critter, this works like a charm.

Yes, I recommend this product.

I have 2 cats. One is in garage with heaters and the other is enjoying this heating pad in her patio dwelling. The garage cat does not like the patio cat that is why they are separate. My dog in my house is a rascal for both cats and why everyone is not in house together. We live in a cool climate so this pad has save the outside cat, I leave it on 24/7 in her house. I am thankful as is this kitty for the great heating pad.

Yes, I recommend this product.

I put my pet heated pad inside a cat carrier so my outside cat would have a warm home during cold weather. She seems to love it and spends every night in her "heated home." This has been a great buy. Thanks from both of us.

Yes, I recommend this product.

I ordered two to get free shipping. Big mistake. They barely heat up and certainly not enough to warm a pillow or bed as advertised. They also were supposed to be large enough for a small dog. Another misstatement. Large enough for two hamsters is more like it. I want my money back!

No, I do not recommend this product.

How much electricity does it use, anyone know?

  1. Thank you for your question. This heating pad takes 25 watts of power.

does the pad stay on as long as it is plugged in or does it turn off after certain time?

  1. Thank you for your question. The pad will stay at 102 degrees as long as it is plugged in.

K&H Small Animal Deluxe Heated Pad Cover

  1. I use tiny human baby receiving blankets (thin flannel) to cover them, and wrap the surplus under the heat pad. Works just fine. The pups love it!

may I use a Rubbermade Tote with lid and straw inside (2 holes for in/out and elevated about 7 inches off the ground. I set up2 last winter but don't

  1. You can use the tote as long as the heated pad goes inside it with a hole close to the exit cord for it to exit the cage with as little exposure to the animal as possible. If you plan to use this heated pad beneath the tote, it will never produce enough warmth to warm your pet through the floor of it. Don't put anything heavy on it, either, as the pad may short out. You can also use the corner holes to attach your pad(s) to the floor of your tote with small screws or wire ties. God Bless!

Can I put this pad under an igloo (that has its own floor) inside the cage?

  1. The instructions say not to put anything over the pad. You can place it inside the igloo, on the floor.

Can this be placed under a plastic bottom wire guinea pig cage to keep a hedgehog warm?

  1. The instructions say not to put anything over the pad. So, you couldn't have it under the cage.. It's fine to simply use it in the cage unless you have some other concerns?
