Saw one my sister had for her old kitty. Impressed by the quality, I got a few last winter to prepare for the cold as the "orphans" in the garage that adopted us would be needing more warmth. Just added a few more mats recently and all the strays are toasty with no more crowding! Really a good product, dependable and economical.

The first week I placed this mat in a location where my cat does not usually sleep. It went ignored! Then I moved it to one of his current sleeping spots now he is on it day and night. My cat is about 11 pounds domestic shorthair and the pressure sensitive heating element warms up nicely with his bodyweight. It does not get too hot and the padding and foam help cushion and protect the internal heating packaging. If one side gets too furry with hair you can flip it over and enjoy the other side until you remove the cover for cleaning.

Or rather my 17+ yo cat hated it. Wouldn't stay on it for a second and he speaks out every warm spot in the house for his back and shoulder arthritis caused by declawing done by previous owner. Cover is cheap. He is 20 lbs and the shape is long and narrow SO NOT HIS OR ANY CAT's SHAPE UNLESS THEY LIE ONLY ON THEIR BELLY W LEGS TUCKED UNDER WHICH HE CAN NO LONGER DO! Even for a cat w long or stuff legs or a cat who rolls over it has a height/thickness to it that scared him because he rolled off. It was not plugs but had a hardness to it. Like a BAD FOAM W AN UNCOMFORTABLE THICKNESS: not thick enough to hold him up or thin enough to be negligible. Cheaply made, but pricey. And with no temperature control (Just plugged in or not) I would be afraid to leave it on with him unsupervised for more than 5 minutes at a time. That was part of the point. He never used it. Not a solution.

Product was just as described. The cats love it. Great price, quick delivery.

My kitty loves her new K&H Thermo Kitty Mat. I placed it on her window-side kitty condo and she spends much more time there than before, gazing out the window and snoozing.

my 2 kitties use this mat year round. the warmth is very subtle and i have no hesitation to keep it plugged in 24/7. i have two mats and have purchased them as gifts for others. i put a pillow case cover over it (although the cover is machine washable); to me it's easier to wash the pillow case rather than taking the 'insides' out of the zippered cover.
