I have been very disappointed with a lot of items purchased from DF&S but this product was of stellar quality and at the best price I could find. Unfortunately, my bunny recently passed :-((((( but he lived for 13+ years (OLD bunny) so obviously this bedding did him no harm; in case you have any concerns in that regard. It absorbs odors incredibly well; better than any other bedding I have ever used. I will return to using this bedding as soon as I get my next bunny.

Small animals (bunnies, gerbils, hamsters...) all are very respiratory sensitive. Just like your children! Never use litter or bedding with pine resin, scented, dust. Also they eat their litter so no paper products. It stops them up. Kaytee is the only litter steam cleaned for dust, mold and bacteria. Shredded, not chunks of wood, dirt and dust like competitors. Also, the 2x2 cubes are economical and manageable. Best on the market. Have been using Kaytee aspen over 15 years. My dwarf bunnies all over 9 years-- Kaytee aspen is key ingredient in their lives. My favorite shavngs by far. However, I wish they could be more consistent with their moisture content as well as volume. Sometimes it is packed in there, but sometimes there seems to be less than I paid for.

I like the conveince of ording online, the Aspen always comes in less than a week which for someone who doesn't keep on top of things is great. I quality of the Aspen is excellent. Our guinea pigs seem to live longer and have less health issuses using quality products. Thank you Drs. Foster & Grant!!!!!!!

Is this product safe to use for a sulcata tortoise hatchling?

Are aspen shavings/bedding safe to use for pot belly pig litter?

Thank you for contacting Drs. Foster & Smith with your question. Aspen shavings are safe to use as litter with a pot-bellied pig. Aspen does not contain the volatile hydrocarbons that pine and cedar contain. The strong scents associated with pine and cedar are due to the presence of these volatile hydrocarbons. It is these volatile hydrocarbons that may also cause respiratory and skin irritation. Another option would be to use shredded newspaper as a litter substrate for your pot-bellied pig. Is this product safe for corn snakes and a pyton

Perfectly fine. But only if you feed your snakes outside of their enclosure. We use Aspen bedding on all our snakes, and they do really well with it. Really easy to clean, just scoop and replace.
