My Zebra Finches love this better than any other bird seed. If I put my hand inside the cage with some of this food, the birds will even perch on my hand and eat these seeds right from the palm of my hand, which I believe is unusual for Zebras.

My finches don't eat most of the seeds in other mixes, but they eat all the seeds in this mix, which means less waste. It's not a complete diet, of course, I use it as a base, and supplement it with veggies and pellets. I've never had an issue with bugs in the seed, though I will occasionally find a sunflower seed (in shell) or some kind of pellet. Not a big deal, I just pick it out. Overall, a good inexpensive base seed mix.

Only mix we have stuck with. It is kind of wasteful because finches only eat certain seeds and leave the rest, so I wish I could make my own blend of the ones I know they prefer, but for premade mix it is the most complete, has added vitamins, and NO artificial colors! I have tried the colorful ones, (don't ask me why) and found it was more wasteful and all the colors can't be good for them! I tried the seed and pellet mix and again they only eat the preferred seeds. So, if you want quality and reasonable price, this is it. If you believe that colors, and mixed in of pelleds, egg food and all that jazz is worth the extra money, taking the chance that finches will actually go for the extras, buy something else. I go for this mix and add my own greens and boiled eggs to their diet. Fresh is better.. Sometimes you might find bigger seeds or pellets from other mixes in the bag, since all the mixes are made in the same vats, but no big deal. Pick them out and serve to the wild birds outside.

..I found hamster food mixed in with it. There where small pellets that hamsters eat in it. I had to pick them out. I only brought this to use while the food I usually buy was being shipped in.

My finch won't eat anything else.

My zebra finches didn't have a preference for this food over any of the other brands.

The ingredient listing provided on the website doesn't list the complete ingredients. It only lists the main ones. Even so for the price per pound it's not bad. Not what I would call a premium mix but more of a basic mix.

As a breeder of show finches I highly recommend this product. I belong to a group of breeders who keep tabs on quality and pricing and we have found this to be the best in this area.
