Centropyge angels have forever been a favorite with hobbyists due to their smaller adult size, colorations and hardiness. The Keyhole Angel is often overlooked due to their lack of bright colors but they are an excellent addition and are known to snack on the nuisance filamentous algae and diatoms. Their small adult size of 7" means they can go into aquariums as small as 70 gallons. Provide a plenty of live rock for hiding and grazing. Like any other dwarf angel, they can be aggressive with other small angels and similarly shaped/colored fish. The Keyhole Angel is not the best choice for a reef aquarium because they tend to nip on corals and clam mantles. The Keyhole Angels are found in the Western Pacific around rubble areas of lagoons and reef slopes singly up to 55 meters deep. They are completely black with a white marking that resembles a key hole and blue lining the fins. Then there is also yellow on the pelvic and anal fins.

ACCLIMATION: Avoid exposing new aquatic life to bright lights after opening the box. Turn off aquarium lights prior to floating aquatic life. Allow the sealed bag with your new fish to float in your aquarium for at least 15 minutes (but no longer than one hour) to ensure the water in the bag matches the temperature in your aquarium. A bacteria booster addition can assist with the addition of new aquatic life. Petco offers free water testing in store to determine if your water is safe for the addition of new aquatic life. DIET: A well-balanced diet consists of a variety of flakes, pellets, freeze-dried and frozen foods, depending on the species. FEEDING: Feed sparingly and no more than fish can eat in 1-2 minutes. Overfeeding can quickly foul the water, especially in smaller aquariums.
