I bought this product for my two juvenile Leopard Geckos, and it did indeed prevent any mealworms from escaping but my geckos were too small to use it. Unless your gecko is nearly adult sized then you may be better off going with a smaller bowl and just cleaning your cage more often to help with mealworm escapees. I think that if they maybe made this product in a different size for younger geckos but made it of a denser material that would weigh it down so that it wouldn't tip then that would increase their sales, but this dish advertizes only that it contains your mealworms and keeps them from escaping, and it does indeed do that quite well.

My green anole, Slappy, was really skinny so I got him this dish. It looks really natural in a tropical environment. I heard it tips over easily but not for me. If yours does though, the solution is simple. Dig it into the moss/dirt/sand or whatever substrate you use and it won't tip over.

The shape of this bowl is great for keeping worms from crawling out but it needs to weigh more. I use this with my adult leopard gecko and it is constantly being tipped over.

the concept of this dish is great for the mealworms not getting out however I used this for my sugar gliders and they constantly tipped it over. needs to be a bit heavier, but however for a lizzard of other animal it would work great.
