Good pump but loud

Our 5000 model works great and has lots of power but it has been humming like crazy and can hear it in the next room. Not happy with this aspect.

No, I do not recommend this product.

An ok little pump. I just use it to move around k1 media inside my sump. Be aware that Foster n Smith mistakenly show them at 200mph and 400mph, they are not. Don't get confused, use the chart, that is correct.

Yes, I recommend this product.

I purchased the 400gph pump. I do not like that the flow control is incorporated into the output stem. It makes it difficult to adjust the flow when tubing is attached. If you are not attaching tubing it might work for you. Also, the pump vibrates when it is sitting on something solid (tank bottom). It does not vibrate when suspended in the water.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Quiet, weak housing

This pump was great while it lasted. I purchased the 800 model. It was quiet and powerful. The head height was about 3 feet and still delivered a lot of water to my tank from my sump. The suction feet never really suctioned, not a deal breaker. After a few months, i started having troubles with it getting hung up. The motor was starting to die. When removing the cover to check the impeller, the tab snapped off with little force. The housung is very brittle. Now the cover wont secure on, which is ok, as the impeller wont turn without forcing it first. It's exceded its lifespan, time for something new.

No, I do not recommend this product.

This pump has been running outdoors on timer, 12hrs a day for one month, supporting a waterfall water feature. Flow rate is as good as new so far.

Yes, I recommend this product.

This little pump sits low in the sump. Able to keep water levels low due to this feature. Strong little pump too. I use it to filter my gfo. Keeps everything running well. I should get more of my other tanks.

No, I do not recommend this product.

The small.o-ring in the housing does not hold when the pump is used as and inline external return pump with a 2 foot head pressure. I tried two pumps after returning the first one. Second the abs plastic is weak and broke when I attempted unscrew it from a fitting..

No, I do not recommend this product.

This pump has plenty of lift, and works great.

This pump does the job. It is used with my UV light for my aquarium. The pump has plenty of lift for the head pressure that it has, pumping through the UV under the tank and back up 5' and into the top of the aquarium. My only complaint is that it is noisy. I intend to wrap it in insulation inside a box to quite it down in the future.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Where are Lifegard pumps manufactured?

  1. Thank you for your inquiry. These pumps are manufactured by Lifegard Aquatics.

Can you get the Quiet One 14000?

  1. Thank you for your question. Unfortunately we do not currently offer this model of pump and we are unable to special order products. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Can anyone post a picture of the pre-filter of the 800 model?

  1. Thank you for your question. We apologize, we are unable to supply a photo of the pre-filter. The pre-filter is a course material as opposed to a fine material and is suitable for catching larger particles of debris only; it would not be suitable for catching sand particles. We cannot advise using this where sand may enter into the intake as it may suck in sand and damage the impeller.

Which pump would be best as a return pump for a 40 gallon reef tank with a 10 gallon sump?

  1. Thank you for your question. The model 800 is overrated at the maximum GPH for a 40 gallon aquarium but would work with the PGH reduced before being put into operation. The contents of your aquarium would determine how many GPH you need cycling in your aquarium. The upper limit is approximately 5 x the volume of the aquarium every hour.

Quit One 2200 accessories

  1. Thank you for your question. Quiet One Pro Aquarium Pump models 800 through 6000 features removable pre-filter, adjustable flow control and 6 ft. power cord. Models 1200 through 5000 include fitting adapters (1/2" - 3/4" for models 1200 and 2200, 3/4" - 1" for models 3000 through 6000).

what is the warranty on this pump ?

  1. Thank you for your question. We offer a 60 day warranty through Drs. Foster and Smith from the date of purchase. However, it does have a 1 year manufacturer warranty from the date of purchase.

max. temp of water, pump can withstand

  1. aherns, Thank you for your question. The Quiet One Pro Pump 1200 is not recommended to be used with water temperatures of 150 degrees. These are more meant to be used with fish aquariums where the water temperature does not go above 81-82 degrees.

will the new impellers work on the old models?

  1. no

What size Lifegard Quiet One Pump do I need for a 75 gallon coral reef tank?

  1. It's recommended to turn over your tank water 10 times in an hour for saltwater, so a pump that can do 750 gph, however I assume that you are going to put the pump under your tank in the sump therefore you need a slightly larger pump to compensate for head pressure of a few feet, therefore the Quiet one 4000 or larger should do the job. It has a dial that you can turn to increase or decrease flow as well to fine tune.

I am replacing my older Quiet One 6000, external application

  1. Thank you for your question. This pump can be used externally.
