Naturally condition larger rural lakes and ponds with beneficial bacteria. Microbe-Lift HC is a proprietary "high count" formulation that simplifies the creation and maintenance of a healthy pond environment. Regular use seeds biological filters to efficiently reduce toxic ammonia and nitrogen levels. Microbe-Lift HC also helps reduce buildup of organic waste including dead algae, sludge, uneaten food as well as dead leaves. Precipitates organic and inorganic particles to reduce cloudy water. Completely safe for fish and aquatic plants. One gallon treats up to 100,000 gallons pond water for initial application or up to 500,000 gallons for maintenance application. Use any time water temperatures are 42F or above.

I have been using MicroLift for many, many years and prior to that had not found anything better. It does everything it says it does by breaking down organic sludge creating a healthier pond environment. It is very rare I have to do anything to correct any of the ph or other levels in my pond, even after adding water or after a rain.

I have used this for several years with great results. In the spring I use the triple whammy treatment and also use the Sludge-Away and the Spring/Summer clean up. Clears the water up to crystal clear n about 3 weeks. Then I just use this stuff all summer in maintenance mode. Much more economical packaging with the HC product. Our pond is only about 3,500 gallons and this goes a long way during the summer. Even better is the consistently FAST delivery.

I have been using Microbe-Lift HC in my watergarden for years, because it is so economical (treats a large number of gallons for the price). If I begin to get string algae, then I consider a partial clean out and or addition of Revitalize with Barley.

When adding any of the beneficial bacteria products does the UV filter need to be shut off. If so for how long?

Proper research reveals that the UV light should be turned off for at least 5 to 7 days after adding the product. This will allow the beneficial bacteria to establish quicker!

What is the difference between Microbe-Lift sludgeaway & Microbe-Lift HC??

I use BOTH the sludge away and the HC PLUS the spring/summer clean up to get things cleared up, then just use about 8 oz/week of HC for our 3,500 gal pond. Never had a problem with the fish reacting to it, and we have Koi as well as other species. I would make sure you have LOTS and LOTS of aeration/circulation. The labels clearly state that these products reduce the oxygen levels, and more so in hot weather.
