Critter Nation Add-on 3rd level

I have 5 double Critter Nation's(CN) with three of them with the third level. The third level--unless 7' tall--you'll need a stool to clean. The addition is easy to install with two people(10minutes max). Mine are for rats and I would suggest only 4 males per level or 5 females for a maximum of 12-15 rats per cage of three levels.

Simple, easy to put together and sturdy. I had to return mine, though, because I had the 142. There has been a redo on the design of the Critter and Ferret Nation cages. It makes them easier to put together but they are NOT compatible with the older models.
If you're starting over, it's a great setup. If you're building up an old set it won't work.
A very good cage, unless you want to use it with the older model.

Are the dimensions wrong on the site?
- Although the measurements are different in width, the Add on unit is specifically designed to be added onto the Ferret Nation and Critter Nation cages.

- No, the top does not come with add-on piece.

How many "Critter Nation add-on's" can you attach to your existing cage?
- I have three levels which leaves about 6" clearance from the ceiling though one can stack as high as the rolling base can handle.

Can I use this cage for our hamster? (not dwarf hamster)

What small animal would makea good pet for a nine year old? I was thinking about a ferret.
- I had my first rats about that age. You'll need two/three of the same seex to prevent unwanted litters.

- Yes, they make longer ones for floor access.

Is the bottom pan solid or is there a space for a ramp to come up. I need a solid floor as the two cages are going to be separate.
Would this cage be suiteable for 1 sugar glider?
- The add-on cage cannot be used as a stand alone cage. You would need the single unit, Model 161. The add on unit can only be used to add to a single unit or a double unit.
