My dog loves this stuff and she is a bit picky, won't eat the hard food version of this and she didn't like the Avoderm either. I mix it with water to make like a soup because she doesn't drink enough in the winter and her poo gets a little hard. When I mix it with water she licks her plate CLEAN!

My dog is allergic to chicken so we tried the veggie diet! She loves this!! I mix it with the veggie kibble and she alway cleans her plate. I should tell you she is a selective eater! Lol. Not the normal chow hound!!

My Border Terrier is on a vegetarian diet for a condition - CECS - which makes it difficult for him to process most protein sources. So I was grateful to find Natural Balance Vegetarian Formula. At one point I was mixing canned and kibble but he seems to be doing better on a canned-only diet lately.

The texture and moisture of this food is great and most of all, my dogs love it. They are probably the best judges! It also appears to have a better quality and higher nutrient content than many other dog foods.

I switched my furbaby to this food when she turned 14 and began having many issues. You see my Shih Tzu was losing muscle in her legs, she had a slipped disk, and lost of senses smell and hearing, just experiencing several issues related to aging. I thought if I changed her food it would prolong her life and she would want to eat. In my mind Natural Balance gave her a little more time with me. She ate her food with a hunger every day, instead of smelling and pushing it away because she couldn't smell it. Natural Balance vegetarian had a smell she became familiar with and knew it to mean good. The ingredients were perfect for her because she needed a limited diet of low protein or crude protein which I preferred to give her under 10. I learnt of this food from the associate at Petco and to this day I thank her. (Thanks Deborah or Debbie in North Riverside, IL) I sent my furbaby home to the Lord on July 27th, 2012. She gave us 16 wonderful years. A few of those years I believe are due to Natural Balance....If I am able to get another dog, I plan to feed them Natural Balance. My cats eat it every now and again...they are way too finicky...to keep them on it.

Food is well liked by my dog/smoked odor is pretty strong. Cans --small ones-- are terrible. When I try to open them--the tab breaks off.

Are the cans of dog food as fresh as in the store. Are there expiration dates on the cans?
