Have bought several 40 oz bags and most were very good, but last bag had a lot of hard, brown stems that my pig wouldn't eat. She would only eat about 50% of this bag. Also had very few seed heads which my pig loves. Not the fault of Foster/Smith. Oxbow needs to do a better job of quality control. This is the second or third bag that has been this way. I hope that Drs Foster and Smith will relay this to Oxbow.

I expect a bit of the hay from a 50 lb box to be unusable but I have received 2 boxes of basically dust. It’s inedible for my prairie dogs, and does nothing but increase the mess, also waste of money because I’ve had to get bags from the pet store anyway. The first time I thought it was a bad box but now I see it’s just an awful product.

I haven't had Rabbits for very long as my landlord kinda just gave them to me but I have shopped around and I've tried different brands. I think you will be hard pressed to find this much hay at such a high quality for this GREAT SALE PRICE. The 50 lb box has lasted me A LONG TIME and I have 2 rabbits and I'm generous with the hay - as you should be. The strands are nice and long making it great to stuff into my improvised hay holder. They love to pick out the strands and chomp away. Please keep this hay at this quantity and please keep those sales coming. Thank you for making this affordable as I was worried taking in two more pets because I have quite a few others.

I have trusted Oxbow products to provide the best quality for my small pets. The smaller package is sturdy and easy to use. However, when I order the larger sizes, I was hoping for the same packaging. Since I am not on a farm, it is hard to store a heavy box in the garage or house. I was hoping to receive several bags instead of one heavy bag that required a dolly to move. My suggestion is to specify online the container/package that we receive so we can plan ahead for storing or purchasing.

My rabbit really likes Oxbow. Have gotten other and he doesn't care for it. I use other for bedding.now.

This hay is always excellent quality, and my gerbils love to chomp on it! They pop their heads out of their burrow whenever they hear the bag crinkle. The hay is longer than other brands I have tried, so they get more chewing in for the same amount of hay. The only downside is that this hay is a bit messier to distribute than hay that is shorter or in "bales". F&S is definitely the place to buy it, as it is much better priced than in pet stores.

My 50lb timothy hay just arrived, I was a little concerned about how the hay would come since I purchased the bigger quantity. I have to say so far I am impressed. The grass came in nice and green, just like in the smaller bags. I haven't gone through the whole thing as I am sure I might have to pull some things out but I trust OXbow and if I have any concerns or questions I can always contact them. I use Oxbow food, hay and treats for my 5 fur babies.
