Fish wanted nothing to do with it.

When I had my last Betta fish, Stride, he would eat everything. I mean EVERYTHING. My boyfriend and I went to go get more fish food, and this was on sale, so we thought we'd give it a shot. It just sat at the bottom of the tank for a week. I was NOT impressed.

No, I do not recommend this product.

I have 3 tanks; A 40 gallon with 1 male and 2 females, a 6 gallon with 1 male and a too small, 1.5 gallon ( this little was a rescue) until i get his 12 gallon all set up! Anyway. Never keep your betta in a bowl too small! They need room to swim, yes, they like to swim!! If you use these in a decent size tank they don't cloud and your betta as a last resort, will eat the food! They will scavange on the bottom when they are hungry or want to eat. NEVER leave them without food. Yes, they can go weeks without food as someone asserted in another review but so can humans but it doesnt feel good (being hungry). I also buy sinking carnivore pellets and break them up. Bettas chow down when I am off running marathons. Love love bettas!

Yes, I recommend this product.

Leaves a horrible film on top of the water

This product may be nutritious for the fish, but I honestly cannot confirm or deny. It made my clean fish tank extremely dirty. My Betta is small and her tank maybe holds 24-32 oz of water so dirty water is evident right away. I have her at work and this was just a horrible experience. I was using the feeder and actually broke it into 3 equal pieces due to the small size of the tank and the fact that I only needed her to be fed for 3 days. I honestly do not think I will use this product again for my Betta or for a small tank. I have used this product in the past ( like 10 years ago) for a large tank and it seemed to work OK but I definitely wouldn't recommend for a small tank.

Great for Vacation

Great for vacation! We went on a trip and didn't worry a bit about our 3 betas! Peace of mind. There was a little residue left over, but totally worth it.

I really do not understand the other reviews, I used to have a betta alone in a 1 gallon and would drop 1 of these every time I went on vacation, some times i didnt go for 7 days so when I got home the tablet was still there doing work, and if you go for more than 7 days (i went about 10 days once) you dont have to worry since bettas can survive that easily and the tablet leaves enough nutrition for this. I do recommend about a 25% water change when you return. i do NOT recommend trying to put more than 1 tablet and i also recommend having a good filter, tank parameters to ensure the waste is minimized. overall this tablet gets the job done and never left my tank dirty enough to cause any problems, my betta fish that was on these lived to be around 4 years old; with a nice water change you will be good to go.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Not Very Good

I tried this when I went away for 5 days. When I came back, my fish bowl was completely dirty and the fish block was rotting on the bottom. It was disgusting.
