This product for the cost is sub par. I am actually very dissapointed in the product quality and how it came shipped. Within 10 minutes of setting up the feeder and putting out my fur babies learned how to remove the tray and stick there paw in the hole to feed themselves. Which resulted in us taping the tray to the base as well as the lid so we could avoid them learning how to remove the lid. Mid day I watched my cat walk over to the feeder and tap the tank where the food is held and watched kibble coming rolling out into the tray. He tapped it like it was a vending machine and the candy bar was dangling. Ether my casts are brilliant or this is poorly made product.
No, I do not recommend this product.

This feeder is definitely not worth the money. It was very cheaply made, the tray did not stay in the feeder and constantly came apart.

The food arrives just as the dog starts looking for us to feed him. The exact hour and here comes his food. He runs to his bowl and gobbles it down. Now I no longer have to worry whether he is fed on time.

Does this unit run on ac adapter plugged into the wall, or is it solely battery operated
- There is an older model which was offered for several years that used an AC plug with the battery. However, Petmate no longer offers this version. The new model, which has been shipping for one year, is battery operated only.

Does it accurately measure portions for small cat food pieces?
- The feeder does not weigh or count the amount of food pulled into the compartment before dispensing. Therefore, you might get 10 more kernels on one feeding and then 10 less the next time.

How many days or amount of food can this be programmed to feed?
- The unit can be programmed to feed (3) meals a day. There are (2) sizes; 5 & 10 pounds. The unit will dispense food as long as there is food in the hopper. The number of days would depend on the size of the unit, the meal size and the number of meals selected.

Is the bowl on this unit big enough for 2 kittens to eat at the same time?
- These units are not recommended for kittens or puppies less than 7 months old. Their ability to reach into the bowl can be an issue when they are young.
