We have had the door installed for less then a week. We are very unhappy with the product. In the product description it states tight seal to keep weather out. This is untrue, there are obvious gaps on sides and bottom allowing air and bugs in. The flap doesn't return to a proper seal. Another issue is the closing panel can only be used on one side. Previously we had a pet safe extreme weather door that functioned wonderfully and lived up to its description. We needed a larger door and unfortunately the extreme weather isn't offered in the x-large size. We ordered this door expecting similar quality and function and are greatly disappointed. Now we will have to replace the door along with finding a new dog door that functions the way it should.

This pet door was purchased for my 110lb. German Shephard. She is able to use it easily and after about a week she is using pretty good by herself although she waits sometimes for an inviatation. I also have 2 cats that are able to come and go as they please. The door looks good and was pretty easy to install.

Looks great, easy to install, and a great price. Was looking for a bigger door to fit over a existing one.

I love this door and the great locking device. My cat figured how to open the snap-on cover of the previous door . My neighbor fashioned a strap to keep the cover on and he figured how to open that too!!. This one is perfect.

We wanted to get rid of the cat box for our indoor/outdoor cat. I installed it alone. The videos on youtube made it sound very fast; it probably would be if I didn't have 5 kids to run from place to place. I finished it in one day working in 5-20 minute spurts. I didn't take the door off as suggested---it probably would have been easier. Lining up the screw holes took some time and a little adjustment.The cat took a few days of practice using the door but now uses it quite easily. Best of all NO cat box in the house!!!

It's great that the animals can go in and out without aid, but the door doesn't stay closed, especially when the outside temperature is below about 25 degrees F.

I purchased the XL door because my dobie/rottweiller mix is too tall for anything smaller. Was thinking that it would be hard to install because of the size, but it was actually fairly easy. Seems to be constructed well, and I like the heaviness of the door flap. I thought at first that my cats might not use it, but they do. The only one who had any issues with it was the one dog I had bought it for. He has finally gotten the idea and loves the freedom he has to come and go as he pleases. Great product!

I ve had this door 2 years it s handy during the summer spring fall months winter is a completely different story. |First the worst issue the flap is secured to the frame by 2 small screws that as the dogs go in and out they back out locktite thread secures don't work on them they still will back out leaving you with a flap dangling to one side with winter blowing in freely. The fix and no the company wont give additional screws even though its made for 5 they give 2 and that's all you get and you cant find them in the hardware stores SO I drilled 2 additional holes thru the frame of a conventional size after aligning the outside (their screws ) I drilled thru the flap and added 2 permanently fixed bolts thru the home made fix the flap no longer falls so the door no longer fails, strong winds will open this but the metal closing plate does work well you just return to letting the dogs out for the winter months greatly disappointed in this "weather proof door"
