Questions
I used these two products and yes it did foam. How long will the foaming last? (Melafix & primafix)
- Thank you for your question. Stubborn bubbles are commonly due to an excess of dissolved organics and/or proteins collecting in a slick along the water's surface, creating the same effect as suds in your bubble bath. As your water condition this will lesson.

Is it alright to use this Pond medicine in an aquarium?
- I have used the Melafix and Primafix for ponds in my aquariums for close to 10 years and have had no problems using them. I used it when I had a 55 gallon tank and now I have a 75 gallon tank. I have even used it in my smaller tanks and just calculated what the dose would be for however many gallons of water. With the smaller tanks, I have a tendency to go a little under on the dosage. I have had great luck with both of them. I add some when I do a water change and always when adding new fish to my tank. I got tired of the many doses I needed using the regular ones, so I started using the pond ones and have used them for years now. I would not be without either one of them. They are both great products. I have used them for so long that I don't even measure any more. I put a different cap on them so I can just shake, tilt and squeeze. I would not advise this until you have a good feel for what you are doing and the amount you are dosing. But to answer your question YES they both can be used in aquariums.

Can you apply in the winter? Fish are dying, they lay on their side and die within a week
- If most of your pond is covered in ice, there may not be enough gas exchange from the water to the air. We recommend adding a de-icer or an aerator to the pond to allow the gases to escape from the water. During the winter, we do not recommend medicating or feeding pond fish as they sort of go into hibernation. cmc
